I'm more worried of a massive lag given all the units- would hate that i'm not able to see anything or control anything through the lag and lose the battles or have to wait too long for things to load.

I always say the more the merrier especially for games like Dawn of Fantasy, Age of Empires, etc., I always found AoE more appealing than Warcraft and Starcraft simply because you can select more units at once.

So very true. The more units the better looking the war looks IMHO. Just as long as it does not bog down someones system too much and make it a slide show for other people.
