I figured as much, was just playing around since they say dragons not draconians. Seriously though, i'd imagine then more as cave dweller types, with wooden ships same as everyone else. But perhaps a bit more simplistic.

Well i must disagree about dragons as merceneries. Ok i would agree for some dragon slaves, or somewhere the lowest rank of dragons (the ones who dont have wings or shoot fire) as merceneries cuz as i see they are noble , ancient, magnificant race and wont be in their honor to serve , even as mercenery, to another lower being.....

I hope that the dragon mercs will be balanced.
And I don't see why dragons can't be mercenaries, I always saw them as vain so with enough gold and maybe a few well-placed praises and I would think that they would help you (I also think that they would enjoy eating people).

Ok firstly, dragon "mercs" most likely won't be actual mercenaries who fight in order to make money so they could buy beer & virgins. 'Merc' is just a convenient term we use, in truth Dragons will most likely be part of the story somehow and will have some kind of a plot-based reason for joining the player. Secondly, as the faction was (and probably still is) originally planned, there were only a few "true" dragons who can actually fly and/or breather fire. The bulk of the dragon factions' forces consists of Drakes, half-orc, half-dragon foot soldiers (and whatever else needs doing) who more resemble regular infantry. So basically, yes, they will need ships (or some other means of crossing water) as most of them will still be grounded.
