And if I recall Mount an Blade is an Indie title Not sure when Paradox picked it up maybe more money will make that game awesome. It has been out for over a year just under the Indie label. They did recently release an expansion though.

THe title everyone needs to watch out for is Diablo 3 which is slated to release soon..

Diablo III shouldn't be a problem. It's not an RTS and the earliest I can see it released is Q4 2010. Hopefully it will be huge but shouldn't threaten DoF's success.

For the EA bit they are hiring in Waterloo for a "new social gaming platform".

Paradox is a good choice, but I am not sure that they picked it up, a phone call helps, they did not deny it, in fact the guy I talked to never had heard of the game. So I would not rule it out, but if they are they hide it well.

I think we need to look off the beaten path.

We know Telefilm Canada is a big investor since at the earliest 2006 Here

I also checked out a few leads in Telefilm and Through CanDev's and none of them know. I believe it is not one of the ones listed because knowing most of those publishers they would not likely keep this quiet.

But as far as I know I have spent a couple of hours calling a few contacts and have come up completely dry.

Steam... ugh, hate Steam. If they're going through Paradox, it will likely end up on Impulse. Paradox has a deal with Stardock to put their games on Impulse (http://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/336289). Fortunately, unlike Steam, Impulse is only used for patching or buying the digital version of the game. You don't have to run it while you're playing the game.

Also just because an employee answering the phone at Paradox hasn't heard of the game doesn't mean they aren't the publisher. No official announcement has been made yet, so likewise it's quite possible a receptionist is still in the dark.

It's not "unpopular", as that implies very few people like it. Rather, the problem is that very few people know it exists. That can be changed very easily with a good marketing campaign, something the publisher will be working on.
