Mor is a term in english yes, not exactly the same as "wizard" per se but more or less the same thing.

Also Mor is the name of a fantasy character who is a wizard. He appears in a lot of my uncle's books, you may of heard of Roger Zelazny. However the term isn't based on his work, it's just an odd coincidence.
