How to improve performance?

Hi,

I just bought the game and somehow my laptop cannot run it very good. I have to put everything on low, turn shadows off and change the resolution to 1280 X 720 to get nearly 25 FPS.
I can play games like Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, Civ 5, XCOM and other games without problems.
My computer has:
Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz with boost to 2.8 GHz
8 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M with 3GB ram

Is there anything I can do? Maybe some hidden options?
Would really love to play this game.

Do you have the latest video card drivers and direct X? You should be getting 20-30 FPS on highest settings. Perhaps with Water on Medium.

Really not sure why your performance this low. Can you maybe attach your DX diag results?

ok, i found out what was wrong. I do not know why it happened but my laptop was using the on-board graphic card and not my nvidia card. Strange that my computer decided to do it that way. Now everything runs on high without problems. Thanks
