I always play tutorials in rts's from start to finish even the most basic ones <.< I like to cut off the voice over before he can tell me what to do by beating him to it >.>

Never read manuals or play tutorials, in fact, games that 'force' you to play the tutorial I usually mod my way around it because it's so annoying. Learning it on my own does more for me.

I try to generally do tutorials and skim through the manual because many games have things that are hard to find out about by just playing it.
