There isnt much I can do about it. Obviously there's the navigation panel and the top navigation. In the middle of the page we have a welcome message, a news ticker, an announcement, latest posts, and then news. On the bottom there is a media section overview panel.
On the sides there aren't that many panels. They'll just show latest additions to the site and shoutbox and such. I do understand what you mean. But removing any of these would either barely help it, or remove something that's fairly important to certain users, and unfortunately I do not want to do that. You can easily get used to the interface. It isn't very simple on the main page, although powerful.
