Hi all!
I was just wondering about sigeweapons. If you have a catapult and hit an army with a boulder or something. Will the soilders just fall dead or are they going to fly away of the crash? The game looks really fun btw ![]() |

We do not have ragdoll physics. Thousands of soldiers + ragdoll = lag. We already have HDR, Bloom, Shader, and some other special-stuff.

That's fine by me. It was fun watching the soldiers fly when hit by a mortar in Company of Heroes, but that games was so resource-intensive on my machine.

Not to mention that CoH doesn't get hundreds of units on screen at once.

Maybe an extra option? Hey, you never know, they might use your game for benchmarks the more aesthetically-pleasing/resource-intensive it potentially is, hehe. They certainly use Supreme Commander (i.e. the expansion) for benchmarks, which is free advertising

Yes, the emphasis is on action, action, and did I say... action games? Obviously this is based around the notion that you're immersed in the environment. But yep, SupCom made it in many graphic card benchmarks.
On a side note, it didn't really tickle my fancy either, the resource collection and economy was a nightmare, aye. Still have the odd shiver in the deepest, darkest depths of my sleep. |

you may not have ragdoll, but you can still have animated men going flying through the air cant you?

And the only way to have them flying through the air is through ragdoll. Most other ways would butcher the game (would look really bad). In reality, if a catapult projectile lands by you, you wouldn't fly 50 feet in the other direction. You are either crushed by it, or you get knocked down (maybe a few feet)
