For those of you who haven't been following us since 2001. THUD was either the first or second unit we had in DoF, just as a test unit of course.

Almost, the basic yellow smileys were the first units in this engine John had programmed (back then it was all 2D in fact). Thud was an emoticon from either our very first or the second forum and he carried his own story, later on I made him in 3D and dropped him ingame when we had a neat engine around. The texture on this thud here is actually the one I used for the 3d ingame model, just a bit higher resolution.
Sadly don't have screenshots of that period myself. Micah (he still around?) might have a few though. |
