That screen is quite old, in fact a lot of the screenshots on the website are. It is shot from an add angle, especially for RTS games, but do not fear the goblin model has been polished since that shot. I'll request some shots of the orcs / goblins so you guys can see the new version.

Second what Ryan said, that screen is over a year old. While we still have months of visual progrmaming ahead of us, as well as polishing models - like that Goblin model, here`s a shot of where things stand right now.

oh and...please take my word for it, character animations make things looks much, much better in-game

If anything, the zoom level is to blame. For all intents and purposes, you will NEVER be zoomed in this close during gameplay.
Considering I expect to see dozens (at least) of goblins on screen at any given time, I'm not worried if any individual isn't overly detailed.
