With this great work, I don't think advertising will be much of a problem for Reverie. Rumours spread by us guys and pictures of DoF will bring enough members and customers to crash the flood gates!

If the marketing isn't done well or enough of it, the game could turn into a Universe at War type disaster where no-one knows it. As this game isn't based on a film or book it means there is no fans from that area-and word of mouth might not be enough. Adverts across many forums and websites are usually the best and Tv commercials showing gameplay or an action movie, if done well can appeal to millions of viewers. Tv adverts for Viking:battle of Asgard was what made me buy the game.

Dawn of Fantasy

It is always something with RTS games. Either you get a good singleplayer experience and the multiplayer aint that great or you get a good multiplayer and the singleplayer aint something to write home about. Rts games who score good on both fronts are rare. This is the opinion of the new Canadian gamedeveloper Reverie World Studios who with the RTS-game Dawn of Fantasy has started a very ambitious project. The makers do not only promise big RTS-maps ful of RPG-influence forseen of a 30 min dialoge for each scenario, they also try to offer for each map thousands of units who can crawl, climb and swim. And in stead of one multiplayer component they have foseen the game of two. meaning a clasic online formule and a MMORTS formule. Another example of taking to much hay on the RTS-fork or should we be starting to get enthousiastic?

Dawn of fantsasy is played in a Fantasy-world named Mythador where four races (Men, Elves, Orcs and Dragons) make each others life hell. The game is forseen from a singleplayer-campagne whith twelve scenario's which presents the four races and also gives a central hero for each race. You start of this game as a young prins, the son of Lord of Dagbor, who leaves for a diplomatic mission and finds his father half-death when he returns. Dagbor is in state of war and it is for you to find out who is behind the attacks. In this story you will also be crawling in the skin of the Messias of Eternia (Orcs), of a starting Archmage (Elves) and of a royal young Dragon. Twelve scenario's does not seem much but the creators emphasize that every scenario is big and it will take twice as long to play then the bigges mission in other RTS-games. Every scenario is full of life, forseen of a great amount of story elementals and dialogues and is forseen of a ton of scripted events wich will make sure there is always something to do.

OVERCOOCKED POTS OF BACON ( they love to use weird titles )

Dawn of Fantasy trys to simplify the basic building by giving you a basic town or homethow where you can ready your troups and lead the gathering of rescourse. You can also put on a feature wich will make rescourse gathering fully automatic so you can fully foucs on strategy. Each of the four races has its own background, unique architecteur and unique units. The men is the youngest race in Mythador and has a prosperiteus economy , brave knights and strong castles wich makes them perfectly capable to attack and defend. The Elves are combined with High Elves and Wood Elves, have taken the forest and the plains of Fairwaith. The Wood Elves are masters in building life communities in and between the gigantic trees of Fairwaith and are mostly feared cause of their lethal archers. The High Elves are know for there fine cities and marmer citadelles and there very skillful in calling up magical spells. The Dragons are the oldest and most wise race in Mythador and make the player capable of playing Royal Dragons, Half-Dragons, and Half-Orcs. And the Orcs are ofcourse well know for their brute strenght and beastlike cruelties wich can not be missed in any fantasy RTS-game. Orcs have a weak economie but can depend on the support of goblins and ogres to strenghten their ranks. The makers try with Dawn of Fantasy to bring the standard RTS-units to a new level. All units are driven by a individual AI who does not only provide many tactical capabilities like wall climbing over walls or swimming over a river but also gives ton of animations which represent the emotional status of youre units. Units are also very good animated wich gives a ragdoll physics wich does the realisme in combat nothing but good. The Heroes under the units can also gain experience and gain new special abilites wich many are passif so you don tneed to be spamming youre keyboard shortcuts like crazy. Remarcable is taht all races do not only have melee-, ranged-, healer- and magic units but that there is also a chapter with naval combat forseen. And to top it of there is also a impresive Siege chapter completed with ladders, batering rams, storm towers and trebuchets. As player you can build at any place and any time a campment to lay siege on youre enemy's cities, but ofcourse you have to defend youre own cities aswell. You put some archers on the walls, put some pots with hot oil on the fire and yell: "Come and get it!".

Persistent Hometown

The most impresive thing about Dawn of Fantasy is that the game offers two multiplayer modes. The standaard onlie mode makes you capable of playing the classic multiplayer games (up to 8 players) on wich you expand your fort, create troops and slaughter your enemy, in a team or own your own. But the game is also forseen of a MMORTS-gamemode on wich almost everything you have obtained in a onlie game (city, army, Heroes and their experience points) are transfered to their next mission. In this gamemode it will take a lot longer before you can build a blossoming economy and ofcourse there is a limit on what you can collect during a mission. If you win you get to take everything with you. If you lose, then the game switched back to youre posessions two games back and you get a nice amount of damage on youre walls to proces. In the MMO-mode each player owns a piece of land with on that land lakes, rivers, forest and mountainchains. During a game youre piece of land is placed against an other opponent and between youre lands is some randomly generated land and let the battle begin. A heavy loss also has consequences for the land. Woods can burn and your cattle can be slaughtered wich means you will have less rescoures in youre next mission. Luckliy these rescoures regenerate automaticly wich will give you the oppertunity to go back to your previous level. U see it, there is no lack of ambitieus features in this game. We will only have to wait and see how the end game looks like.

There thats about the enitere thing enjoy reading.

A good advertisement would be to put the game trailer on fantasy films in cinemas before the film starts that will attract quite a good interest because thats what they do with the video games.
