I haven't read the books but I started watching the show last night. I love it. The setting is great.

From what I Understand the actors playing Tyrion (the Imp) and Ned Stark are the people George R. R. Martin (the author) always envisioned playing the parts, he was super excited when both got called with offers for the parts and accepted immediately.

It was pretty dope but watching all the sex/violent rape was awkward with my mom sitting next to me, to say the least..

This may sound wierd, but I found that the tv show followed the book a little too well. There were some things that it could have done without. Not a complaint.

Ive only watched a few episodes of it, but it seems like a very good show, i just hope that it lasts for a while and doesnt get discontinued like a lot of other good shows i liked, such as V and SGU, and ive been reading the books, seems to follow the storyline well enough.
