Robert Jordan with his wheel of time series (All his books were really long and bloated...I could have wrote the same story with half the number of pages, but it was still a very well crafted story)
Terry Goodkind with his sword of truth series (I really liked the first 3 and the last 3...all the others were kind of meh) Orson Scott Card with his Enders Game series (really good Si-fi series that I highly recommend) Brandon Sanderson with his Mistborn series and finishing up the wheel of time (The Mistborn series has the most unique magic system that I have ever read about...very nice series) and I am reading George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones right now and so far so good. |

Wow, I don't know how can you answer so easily, because I can't xD. I would say that it really depens on the genre (Javier Negrete/Alexandre Dumas/Alberto Vázquez Figueroa for Historical books, H.P. Lovecraft or Poe for Horror, George R.R. Martin for fantasy, etc).

I really like R R Martin, but i'd have to say James Elroy writes the best crime noir books bar none
