This might just be a pet peeve of mine,

but i absolutely hate the music on the site.

I have the DOF website set as the bookmark and the second i click the bookmark i quickly tap on the forum tab and close the site.

Not sure what it is, but i think its just the way it starts off comes off too strong.

Something mellower might be better, i know it scared the **** out of me the first time.

Anyways this could be just something that only bothers me, could be interesting to hear what other people have to say.

i can follow you completely. but i in general dont like sound on websites, and the fact that i still havent found a mute button on http://www.dawnoffantasy.com/index2.html just make me avoid that site:P

but again, i in general dislike sound on websites, it interferes with my music.

and maybe an option to start the DoF trailer by choise(found here: http://www.dawnoffantasy.com):P my headset has the sound settings set to max to make it easy for me to customize sound volumes for different games, programs or whatever. so when this trailer starts i get shocked every time.

I have to say I agree & do the same. Not that it's bad per se, its just BOOM out there.

I personally hate music on any sites...

especially when i can't turn it off.

Whats worse is the way DOF's music just hits you right away :/

Wrong thread for this, whatever it is. I'm not really sure what you're asking. And where exactly are you looking that you don't see people chatting.. the game isn't out yet.

As for the website's music, I believe we're still working on an improved layout, so perhaps that's something to consider when they do that, at least a mute button somewhere. I normally have the plugin for firefox set to zero volume so I hear nothing unless I turn that up which I rarely do.

I will agree that the music on the front splash page is not the best. Very percussion/rythmn oriented that has some wierd rythmn spots, which I'm not the biggest fan of. However, the music for the August DoF trailer I didn't find to be that bad. However, I kind of wish there was more of a pinnacle point within the music using an epic string or brass melody, but that's just me :-)

I listened to it again, and I guess I see what you are all saying. I thought that the music was kind of strong to get you in the mood to fight...which it does for me. Is it something I'd want to listen to all the time...probably not. But it is okay for something short I think.

And to that end, that's why I think it isn't mellow and could startle someone...it's not supposed to be pleasant. I'm just describing their supposed intention though...they could have something that wasn't intended to conjure up aspirations of wreaking havoc on ones enemies walls. But if that is what they wanted, something mellow probably wouldn't work.

Anyhow, sound in the game is a lot different (although I could see that being what you hear every time you go to the main menu of the actual game). If it was, would that be enough to make you want to quit ?

I personnally make my own playlist and turn off all musics from site. I'm sure alot of ppl do this. And while plaing games that I can talk to players via my microphone, I turn all music off so I can concentrate on conversation.
