Well you can't expect total realism in any game. Game play over realism is the way things tend to, and to be honest, should go. Unless of course they slapped, "The most realistic fantasy RTS ever made". Which would then be sort of funny, as you wield magic and what not.

Maybe you could send the archers back to the archery range and get them new bows for like 50 bucks or something, or they could become swordsmen.

yeah if that happened at Helm's Deep they would have been screwed within minutes
 but I think it's too much realism to include that, though in rain power should be reduced
