Hard to say, I've played a truckload of cool games, but (non RTS) I would say either Resident Evil, Oblivion or FF7.

Arcanum (Old title, RPG from the old Troika games)
Starcraft/starcraft 2 (Pretty much the same game to me, but dependable and fun)
Mount and Blade (Hell yeah)

Now, another section of my favorite games, are games that are fun because of what people have done with them, these are:

Neverwinter nights (The original, fun servers still serving people 11 years later)
X3: Reunion, Terran Conflict (I just buy a corvette and name it Serenity... my imagination takes over from there)
Mount and Blade (It counts twice, because it just does)
The Elderscrolls: morrowind to present (Yes... I would like to take time out of saving the world, to own a farm, 4 castles, half the empire, and a jedi lightsaber.)

Mass Effect 1 & 2 for me. The best thing I have EVER played. I can't wait for Mass Effect 3 early next year.

hmm i guess Civ series ain't a RTS game so i'd go with that.

but as far as RTS goes i love ScBW/sc2

one of the best RPG games i'v played is Mass Effect series^^ hope ME3 will be good next year on the release.

i don't know if it's an RTS or not but Europa Universalis 2 also one of the best games ever made, but a very very very hard learning curve for beginners.

Anyone ever play 'The longest journey' and the sequel 'Dreamfall : Longest journey' I completed them both recently.. An wow, its a real powerful story driven game. Not perfect (ie combat in dreamfall) But i really loved them. Im hoping funcom will start work on 'Dreamfall : Chapters' soon though appaprently it wont be until after the secret world is done with.
