Oh, and is it possible to construct pallisades as a player? Those small openings are pretty nice to stall if you have to. If it's only availiable for some NPC towns...ah well.

Once again, the snow blows me away. Which gives m yet another (last one!) question: How do seasons work? Is it actually particular to the current season in a certain part of the world, or do you guys have some sort of game calender?

Doubtless some of those have been answered, so sorry. But I haven't seen the answers yet. Just curious.
Your walls will be pallisade then you upgrade them to stone.

As for weather, you'd have to ask one of the guys that worked on it. I know the code for changing seasons manually, but not what makes it tick in mmorts.

I think I remember reading that the seasons cycled every few weeks or so in MMORTS. Not sure how they work in skirmish, though.

Very cool. Now, you said that the cliff was steep. Can units, if crammed too much onto the cliff, fall off of it or will the slope just decrease their speed?

Thanks

That should count for the backside of the wall as well like in the rtw series. If they get to tight on the walls people fall down. Also people should not die from falling just a short m or so. However we will see

Agreed. Once of the things I hate about combat in a lot of RTSs is that the combat is really static. In real life, it wasn't just about killing the other guy. It was also about pushing them back, breaking their formation etc. So guys coming off a siege tower etc should be able to push the enemy back enough for them to fall off the wall due to overcrowdedness and running out of room to get pushed back to. Of course, many of them would make an effort to instead move along the wall. Only one or two guys should fall or something.
