This week we are showcasing the new wildfires in the game. Its not a real battle unless things can catch on fire! Many objects in the game can catch fire by various means, such as a spell gone astray or flaming projectiles. Fire dynamically spreads to any nearby objects, leaving only scorched remains behind. Your units will flee, frantically trying to avoid the fire if it gets too close. But the reverse is true too... you may strategically set fire to the enemies wheat fields and mill, sending their peasants in a frenzy (maybe even killing some), and effectively leaving your opponent without food. Fires will play a big part in your experience with the game, and if not handled with care, it can have devastating results...
Elven warriors attempt to siege your castle, and have their magic users wreak havoc on your buildings ![]() A nearby wildfire is started in the forests, burning through the trees and local wildlife ![]() The scouting party returns to their campsite, only to find it covered in flames ![]() The Orcs unleash a devastating attack on the city of Denwall, leaving countless citizens dead, their houses burning to the ground ![]() This is part one of a two part showcase. Soon we will release an accompanying gameplay video showcasing the wildfire system

That second picture, the wildfire, has to be one of my favourite images so far (out of all images) - the combination of the haze, glow, smoke, motes and embers is stunning!

Indeed... it is beautiful... but i think the last one slightly outdoes it... The fire with the orcs just makes them seem that little bit more brutal and evil... It is a much better effect than most games can accomplish, the screenshot is very good

I'm stunned... This is amazing, particularly the first screenshot. A really brutal battle.

It looks like you guys have a great and innovative fire system. I look forward to burning the camps and towns of the unprepared.
I also like the blood that is shone in the first and third screenshots. It looks like the game is really progressing in development. I. Want. To. Play. This. Game.

Whoa....this sounds great. I'm really looking forward to "playing" with fire, even though my parents told me to never do that
Man, I'm getting impatient to play this... ![]() |

Now, how can elves deal with fire? It seems to be a definite bane to them, at least from what I've seen from screens. Really, my question applies to really all the races.
Thanks for your time devs.

Quote:
several objects in game are completely resistant to fire, such as stone and marble walls.
