Frequency out of range

so after the patch i get this error message on my screen its a 1440x900 i know its ether the rez is to high or the refresh rate is to high both will do it, my question is there any way to change it outside of the game like in the files or can a gm do it i use 60 for refresh rate can go up to 70. i have a Nvidia 9800 gtx 512gb card
