None the solutions work as the CD Key has expired......whats the solution to expired keys?

I bought Dawn of Fantasy recently from a retail store. However after installation it asks me for my CD key, so i enter my CD on the back of the manual but it doesn't allow me to type the 6 characters that it shows me to put in the first box. all the other characters enter fine its just the first. When i click on submit it tells me to enter a CD key. What can i do??
