Default Natural Disasters?

Winter can be factored into an over all plan.

Quote:
Q: Does the weather and environment have any affect on game play?
A: Yes. The weather has a great impact on your economy and the global market. For example, in the winter, farms will become obsolete forcing human players to hunt or trade for food. At the same time, the price of food in the NPC markets will increase to meet the principles of supply-and-demand.

But what about the unexpected?
Will there be natural disasters that will impact your building or production?
Floods? Fires?

I doubt it, i think that might become just an annoyance. Different seasons is enough imo.
A flood could destroy half your town only for someone to siege you 10 minutes later, free win for them pretty much.

Yah, but, there should be something like, if an earthquake destroys half your city, other players cant siege for a set amount of time so they can better prepare

I like the idea of diseasters being ingame, true it might make it easier/cheaper for someone to just worm their way in and destroy you, but theres gotta be some way that you can bribe them or have some cooldown timer till most the stuff is fixed again.

Too much of a hastle for the developers and players who don't put in too much time. Imagine coming home one day from work and seeing your castle caught on fire and was flooded while you were gone. Maybe storms for navy and trade boats.

Even though it would be interesting, I don't think natural disasters will be a part of this game. I do believe there should be weather, but not disasters.

This about it. If someone new started playing and a disaster came in 10 minutes in destroying everything they worked on, would they keep playing?

The game designers wouldn't want that, so weather is only gonna be something to change up gameplay mechanics.
