Was it your choice or was it because... you have krabs?

Be careful if you are hanging around that many people with krabs. Don't use their bathroom!

I don't know about you, but it takes me under a second to type what I want to say. Typically there are breaks, even in a major battle, where you can afford to send a message.

Personally, I actually find it takes a lot of focus to talk in the middle of a battle, and I basically can't micromanage while talking. Alternately, typing takes relatively little focus and I can express myself quickly and in a manner that does not disrupt the flow of gameplay.

For my part, I certainly wouldn't use voice chat if conventional text chat was available.

typing isn't bad. And while I can definately get off what I need quickly...it's just so much easier to simply say. "I need help over on the right side with these catapults" than typing it out. Plus responses are faster etc. You don't have someone missing chat because it scrolled off the screen to fast etc.

Voice chat is a GREAT benefit to any game that relys on teamwork. On games like SupCom 1 and 2 as well as starcraft all my friends and I use a teamspeak server. It just saves time and effort.

There is always TeamSpeak or Ventrilo if people really want to talk to one another as they game.

I would not mind an in-game voice chat but there are other programs which can do this.
