That ice thing reminds me of the King arthur movie, when they smash an axe in the ice and evryone falls down in to the water

That would make more sense making a spell to were u can turn the water into ice at the cost of mana/power. nice idea SvN

Yeah maybe if enemy units fall in the water it could freeze them alive.

or making it to were when an enemy mage/dragon shoots fire at the ice it melts causing ur units to fall into the boiling water and lose health over time as they are in the boiling water

Actually boiling water isn't what's painful. It's condensing steam that's painful. It has to do with latent heat. Water actually absorbs energy out of its surrounding environments (cooling it off) when it vapourizes, but returns that energy when it condenses. As a result, condensing steam causes burns, but boiling water does not. Mind you, I still wouldn't prefer to be in boiling water, but I think the nearby fire spell would completely overshadow it.

how about a spell where a dragon can set flammable land on fire? i dont know if this has happened or he can chuck trees across rivers to walk across

I wouldn't go diving into big pool of 100 degree water, but I'll take it any day over being thrown directly onto what's heating the water.
Flammable terrain is cool; too bad BFME2 botched it up. I didn't know that snow was flammable <_<
