Halo 3 Gears of War is a great game too. HL2 was also quite good (gravity gun ftw)

Other honorable mentions would be Battlefield, Black and White, and KOTOR.

Metal Gear Solid, the first one, though 2 and 3 were also very good, the storyline and presentation in the original was amazing.

I have alot of favourites but HL2 with all the mods are pretty nice and Oblivion.
