Hi folks,
After re-installing stronghold for the umpteenth time in as many years I decided to go on a hunt for something more updated but still in the style of Stronghold and maybe even an online version. I found nothing Then by chance I stumbled across a link for DoF and after viewing one of the promo vids I was hooked and I haven't even played it!Having beta tested before I was hoping to get in on that as well but seems I am too late for this latest wave, hopefully I might get a chance later. I got hooked on mmo's years ago when I beta tested a little known game called Ryzom. A truly amazing game which I went on to play, in total, for about 5 years before the original company went bust. There followed a year or so of attempted revivals and eventually the game re-opened as open source. I still have the urge to revisit it and may well do so sometime but a pc upgrade is needed first as it was always very cpu intensive. Next on the list was dofus, a quaint little number which had fantastic playability if you ignored the imaturity of a lot of its members. I played that for just over 2 years before growing bored and moving onto tribal wars. Another interesting game which I have recently grown bored with. Again I played for about 2 years maybe a little more. I've flirted with many online games the last few months but none have managed to hook me, most are variations on the evony theme it seems and not worth paying for. Maybe I have found what I am looking for with DoF and whether I make the beta or have to wait for retail I will follow it's development closely. This could be the one that gets my money for the next couple of years or so. ![]() |
