I already knew that, but due to the fact that I still need to order a new card, I also heard that it can possibly be downloaded which is why I posed the question.

Can you expand what you mean? the vertex shader is for graphics programmers to use and is on the card which can't be download. Are you talking about Pixel shader? Which is also already on your card and can't be downloaded The only thing that you can download on and for you graphics card is the 'Drivers'.

Yeah dude, you can't "download" a vertex shader. It's a hardware thing.

The vertex shader is what I was referring to. The only reason I slightly suspected that it could be downloaded is because when I typed it into Google, vertex shader download was one of the first results. Kind of a dumb mistake nonetheless. However, as I ordered my video card today, it should more than support the specs needed for the beta because, alas, I downloaded it yesterday and probably won't be able to play it until Friday.
