Like will this be like age of empires where it takes like a few seconds to train units and depends on what building your building?

Yes, things take time to happen. For example, in MMORTS, it can take many hours just to construct a barracks. But luckily, if you start a barracks, train some archers, and send some peasants to go farming before logging off, 12 hours later when you login you may find your barracks completed, your new archers awaiting orders, and your food stockpile increased quite a bit.
Though keep in mind, the longer you are away from your city the slower the automatic gathering gets. I guess your peasants get lazy when they realize you aren't watching. ![]() |

Are the times for construction roughly the same for the barracks/stable/archery range?

Kinda depends i think really per race how long training is going to take. Like some of the orc units you donīt have to train, they just keep getting crapped out of their huts and burrows autamaticly

The automated slowing down of resource gathering is a good way to stop people going for 2 months and then comming back to be rich as anything, because normaly being offline and getting attacked normaly solves this. Could you maybe add like increased voilence and crime for people away for a certian ammount of time? would be cool
