I like most of these, however I think the following kinda defeats the purpose of siege equipment, and would also be a little unrealistic

good idea...and if that sertain unit would die just buy that specail unit from a barracks (if there is one) to be more smart just buy more then your seige equipment OR i thought that i read a thread or comment that the weakest unit will push the seige tower, ladders BUT you should have some thing that gurded the units from arrows or boiling oil like a shield unit

The advantage of catapults and the like is that you can barrage an enemy from outside their retaliatory range (plus they're useful in a non-siege battle). The downside is that they take longer to use than siege ladders or towers. I don't know if defences will work in this manner, but if you can capture enemy walls, using ladders and towers would certainly be effective in preserving them for your own use (I'd love to see a campaign mission - preferably a later one since this is well suited as a high difficulty mission - to capture an enemy stronghold before you get pincered by enemy armies, then use its defences to defeat them).

I think catapults are used more for war and not for sieging and if they would be used for siege they should take longer to break things down.

Catapults have more mobility than stationary units like trebuchets, making them a better choice in certain situations. That's really one of the big requirements of a strategy game, lots of choices and different options. Having that variety is important.
