The campaign probably ends off where everyone is fighting, but is a good place to let the players start on. The prince keeps his kingdom safe or whatever, but everyone is still at war.

Or the end of the campain leaves the land in anarchy which would explain why there are hundreds of independant citys and teritories

Yeah, anarchy is good. But I would guess that the prince's kingdom is safe for the campaign but everyone is still fighting for some reason. Will the prince's city be in the mmorts map? If it is, I bet that it will be huge.

This sounds promising! I love the idea of continuity between the campaign and the MMO.
I agree with the OP, a game needs a good story in order to keep your interest. At the end of the day a good game always has a good story at its heart- imo.
