Questions about the map editor?

First off, there might be a thread like this, but I already checked the search forums thingo.

So anyways, the online part of the game is not sounding very pumping to me, so I want to know about the editor.

The media fair post on the editor, looks good, but before I get the game when it comes out, I want to if it it would be possible to make games like say DOTA fro warcraft. I dont play it, but if you could make a game like that with heroes with spells and all that, it would be awesome.
Say triggers to directly change stats in game - say a unit's name or if there is armour types in this game, directly change armour types. (wasn't possible in warcraft.
And also do all that cool spellbook stuff and attachment systems from warcraft.

If thats possible, i'll probably get it when i get the money.

You can use LUA and the map editor's inbuilt scripts (in conjunction) to create a ton of new stuff, or change the game fundamentals entirely.
