FANTASY FRIDAY V Capital Towns This Friday we'll be looking into each race's capital towns. These towns are typically the largest in the region and will be important hubs in the MMORTS world with many quests available from their locals or which take place in these grand cities. These towns can be played either as skirmish maps, or players can travel to them in the MMORTS using the world map feature. Upon arriving in town, players will be able to head to the markets, talk to NPCs, or even wage war against one of these citadels. Region: Southmount Difficulty: Hard The name of Dagbor has echoed through the ages with strength and victory. This is humankind's largest and proudest city. Its defenses are legendary: two layers of walls protect the lower entrance, while the keep itself is circled by a roaring river and treacherous cliffs. The ancient bones of those foolhardy enough to tackle water and rock sometimes resurface briefly, before the lethal undercurrents suck them once more back to their watery prison. Region: Flattan Rol Difficulty: Hard Makkada means “Mother Womb,” and it is the pride of the orc race. This place makes all orcs strong, for here orcs were first created. The capital city of the orc kingdom, Makkada is one of the largest cities in the land of Mythador – quite uncharacteristic of orcs, yet there it is - located on a mountain side surrounded by deadly swamp. This town is protected by numerous layers of walls, not to mention the royal keep on the mountain top. It can only be taken by a truly massive army. Region: Bolfores'l Difficulty: Hard The great capital city of the elven realm embodies all the awesome power of this immortal race. Its beauty is unearthly and unwelcoming. Boleta hums in every space, and the trees are giants here. Few that are not elves have witnessed the glory of Illas Tiltos and lived to tell the tale. Twin walls built with elven craft stand tall about the inner keep, and it is said that to siege Illas Tiltos would be to blow against a hurricane.

Great screenshots guys! I really like the look of the npc cities. They really look alive with all the people and the trading and stuff. Why does Dagbor, around all the towers, have a bunch of scaffolding on them? They look finished to me.

i have to say i cant complain about the games graphics anymore, for some reason all the units look much better ( at least the human ones ). and the city streets look realistically congested with crappy houses and randmon stuff, wich i like a lot becasue it makes the city look so much more realistic
also i really like the look of the winter season, it makes the game so much more detalied with bits of snow on houses and walls great screenshots alex, i have to hand it to you these are the best pics ive seen of dawn of fantasy ( and ive seen them all )Great Pics |

Love the elvish nightime =),
but as i see i am little questioning the strategic purpose of elvish town. Since Humans have river/many layers and that stuff, than orcs have bigbig city that masses of hords defend it so it doesnt need some kind other protection, than there is elvish which looks similar to orcish one (wall is rounded and it is waving and have 2 layers) but they dont have masses to make up for that (aka same vulnerable from all sides so everywhere needs to be guarded on same lvl). Or am i missing something ?=P Well in my logic, since they are elves and that live with nature, they would help themselves with some natural defenses.

Alex for some weird reason took some of these shots in the editor where we have great tree leaves disabled so they don't get in the way of creating the level. ![]() I'd like to point out, that Dagbor's walls are currently flawed, you can see seams and what not, it was a stronghold not built by me, but I defiantly do plan to fix these walls to a more seamless perfection. ![]()

By the looks of the structures, this game is more challenging to play.
