I wrote this ~4,000-word fantasy short story last month and was originally going to publish it in a magazine, but since the magazine was terribly understaffed and the editors were taking too long to review it, I decided against it. You can now read it for free on Scribd.
The story technically isn't DoF fanfiction, as it's set in a different world, but it does feature orcs, elves, and humans. The protagonist is a human warrior who must fight for elves to feed his people, but experiences a conflict of consciences that will determine the fate of tribes...
