Geography
I've noticed the Lag issues as well and were hoping that will be resolved with the steam release, however its not a guarantee. We'd like to play with everyone so hopefully geography won't hold us...

Having a large bank of sorts would be really helpful to draw on. Another thought was if there were large multi-player controlled cities it would be cool to see them on the same map with the NPC...
