Which is why I suggested a column-oriented database instead of a RDMBS, which is just overkill. A database would probably make it easier on the server to compare armies, check player rankings etc.

Log files quickly balloon to enormous sizes if left uncompressed though. I'd say a column-oriented database (similar to Google's BigTable) or an object database would be the best way to store user...
