Right,

I am less than pleased at the moment for several reasons. Firstly I was part of the alpha/beta program for this game a year or so back and really enjoyed it. So finally I decided I would buy it.

I bought the game for $25 or whatever it is on this website only to find out that its being sold for as low as £3 on other websites.

I thought 'oh well' my own fault for not looking around. Still its a good game so worth paying for.

I loaded it up, installed all the updates and then when I try to log in I get 'connection timed out' over and over again. Finally it crashes my computer and when I restart the comp it nows says 'FAIL' whenever I try to load the game. Followed by a message that says 'The type initializer for 'DOFUpdater.Properties.Settings' threw and exception'.

I have restarted the computer again, deleted the game and tried to re install. Whenever it gets to the patcher now it just says fail and shuts down. Anyone know a fix please?

I have the same problem, but with the 25$ version you get different items than if you you were to buy the 2£ version from example game.co.uk, the game's servers have been down now for over 14 hours I believe, take a look at some of my other posts and other people have "connection timed out!" message on one of the posts I have even uploaded a pic, its just stupid that they haven't resolved it...

EDIT: You can play single player, its just the online is not working....

The main problem is the new 'FAIL' one. It means I can not even load up the patcher. Any ideas?

Which of course stops me even playing single player.

I'm loading the game now, will get back to you, if i have the message...

It started happening when my computer crashed while I had the game loaded up.

I'm in the games working for me ..... try reloading the game.... and then if that doesn't work re-download but i doubt that will work, but meh still give a go !!!:D

Still can not get the game working, always comes up saying FAIL when I try to launch the patcher, any ideas guys?

Welcome to DoF Kutai - and sorry to hear it`s off to such a crappy start. Here are some steps that have been posted before that might help you. Try running the updater after each step.

And about that - the £3 is a limited time thing only, besides our store includes 20$ of bonus content with the purchase...now we just need to make sure you can start the game:)
