Beta-Retail Transition
 

Thank you to everyone who participated in the beta. The following instructions are here to ensure a smooth transition from the beta build to the retail.

1.) Go to Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel/Programs, and uninstall the Dawn of Fantasy program.
2.) Go to your user directory (C:\Users\Your User Name Here) with 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' enabled (see here for details), the folder AppData should appear.
3.) Navigate from your user directory to AppData, and then to Local. For more instruction, see:

4.) There should be a folder named DoFUpdater there, delete it.
5) Install the purchased copy of Dawn of Fantasy, either from the cd or the digital download.

You are now ready to play the retail version of Dawn of Fantasy. :)

Game does not start (APPCRASH)
 

Hi all

now i bought the game ==> beta worked fine ==> Release wont start (brand new install with all old files from beta deleted)

Updater says up2date and i can click on play
now the intro starts after that app crashes with

In Folder Fonts there are DevinneSwash.ttf DevinneSwashShadow.ttf present

Please excuse my bad english my main language is german
and thanks for help hope this is soon fixed cause never had that problem with any of the beta releases

Did reinstall DotNetFX40Client from game dir
and redownload Mithrill.dll ScintillaNET.dll
Game launches now
now i only get cdkey error at creating account

god i feel ******ed, my cd key wouldnt work because i put an O instead of a 0 for one part of it.
but it works now so im happy :)
nvm my game starts up normally but I cant creat my account, says the cd key wont work :(
........acutally hold that thought.
I hate myself, I made the same mistake with my key again, it works now :P

Are you talking about the Beta testers that didn't pay to play? I paid $29.99 but was still in Beta, so do I have to do what was posted above? And if so, the Key that I used will still work to digitaly download the retail version?

These instructions are for those who had the beta version of the game installed and have since purchased the game. So, yes, I would say you need to follow the instructions above.

Your old beta key will no longer work, you will need to use your new retail key for installation and account creation.

So I have to buy the game again? :confused:

No, you only need to buy once. When you bought the game, you should have received a retail key, this is the key you need to use to install the game and create an account.

If you played the beta, you would have had a different beta key, but that key is no longer valid.

If you pre-ordered the game and have not yet received your boxed copy or download instructions with a retail key, then you will need to contact the retailer you purchased the game from.

You will need to uninstall the beta version of the game as per the instructions above and install the retail version of the game.
