Heroes and Dragons

What will the heroes be like? Will they be all powerful so that they can deal with the limitless mobs that will no doubt be thrust at them?

I for one usually force attack heroes in most games (sins of a solar empire mostly) so I hope they can take hits!

And will the 'all-powerful' dragons fly? I hope they can, and breathe fire!!

Welcome to the forums! Let me clear a few things up:

1. Dragons will be able to fly, they will have the best air units in the game.
2. I bet they will be able to breathe fire, but there will also be drakes and others in the dragon race that can't.
3. Heros will be powerful, but not like a god, they will probally be about 8 times better then a normal troop, but nothing more...

Not all Dragon units can fly. So far, I think it's 3, though some Reverie spy will have to confirm it

This should not belong in suggestions... Oh well i'll just say your suggestion is you want Dragons to breathe fire.

Heroes will be available in campaign but I think they won't be in multiplayer, unless you consider spellcasters to be heroes.

I think they will be. Like was stated before, they won't be "all powerful" but will still help out and give players an edge.

If you look at the DoF trailer on the official website, near the end you see a dragon take off. Also, in the gruff commentary he mentions "firebreathing dragons". I'd take a screenshot, but when I paste it in paint the image is the image in the video ie. you play it, it plays in paint. You quit it, the centre image goes dark

We don't have much word on heroes yet, but we do know that spellcasters will be a separate specialized breed that work differently than heroes. I hope we don't see "one man army" heroes.

I think the best balance would be to enable heroes to pertain a survivability bonus when they're placed with a large group of units. This would mean they'd be hard to kill while they still have allies surrounding them, but once all their support is killed off the heroes themselves can be quickly surrounded and finished. I certainly hope we don't see a situation like BFME where a hero outlasts a massive swarm of enemies. That should be the end of any hero.

If anything, I'd think wizards could outlast most heros because of their magic, but once it's gone they're finished.

Hmmmm...

Well, there are such huge armies in this game, so a bit of concentrated attacking could easily kill any hero, health from 1000 to 0 in a few seconds if you get all your archers force-attacking.

I think heroes should be like... shock troopers. They hit hard, and if left undeterred they can kill a whole lot. And I heard on gamespot that some spells can decimate an entire army...
