Pop cap...
...will it be present in DoF? If so, will it be set from the start or will it increase/need to be upgraded during the game (maybe by upgrading strongholds). Will it be the same for all races (maybe Orcs require a larger pop cap since they'll probably be going for "mass effect"). Will dragons have a separate pop cap for their "conventional" units and the Dragons themselves, similar to how in Universe at War Hierarchy has two pop caps for units and walkers? Will mounts maybe have a pop cap of their own? Maybe some other special units? K, that's it I think.:D

Yes there will be a pop cap. It will be with all the units though, so you could have a whole army of horses without a limit on them until you fill up to the max pop. cap.
|
Will each unit be worth a single unit of the pop cap "resource" or will stronger units take more, like a human pikeman filling up one slot of the pop limit while a heavy knight takes for example 4 etc.

I'd say yes.

Thanks, I really couldn't find any info on this. :)

There will be a pop cap limit.
Different units will take a different number of population. Mounts will be limited to how many units you have, for example your not going to be able create more horse than you have units that will ride them. Siege weapons themselves for the most part (catapults, battering rams, ect.) have no pop limit (so far) as they require units to opperate them. Some siege weapons will be units on their own such as Tree of War and the Elven Ballista. |
Thanks again Ryan, helpful as always. :)

Different amount of Pop caps for different units is like aoe3 :)

Awesome! :D It's great to know that even pop cap reflects the races' different styles, details like that mean a lot to me.
