Dear Players,

as we continue our work on a major Patch 24 - that should once and for all fix some of the worst issues in-game, we`ve decided to spend a few days on some of the other issues reported by you.

And while we only have a small patch for you today that doesn`t fixes major issues like PvP lag, crashes or sync problems, we think you`ll like the changes we have in store for you.

Patch 23 B fixes some of the more annoying issues including Wizard OP and introduces some smaller but highly requested balance changes and mini features.

We hope you`ll continue to enjoy the game for another week as we continue work on Patch 24 that should finally allow some of our players still experience issues in PvP to enjoy the game.

Patch # 23 B

:::::Major Fixes and Additions:::::
-Some of the Wizard spell effects greatly reduced, Wizard army pop and strength increased
-Wizard Spells no longer overlap - no benefits to casting two or three version of the same spell
-New reasons to defend your town - Defender gets 2X Crowns win or lose
-Limit of one of each type of Hero, Dragon or Wizard that can be added to an army
-Exploration View mode now gives crowns for clearing the map, from 1 to 5 depending on the region
-Daily Reward reminder pop-up

:::::Minor Fixes and Additions:::::
-Dragons and Wizards can no longer join scenario quests
-Fixed a bug with Attack Protection timer counting down in new city
-Killing Dragons in Sssilistra gives significantly more gold now
-Increased Orc building limit to 220, added message if over trying to build that
-Ogres in Bal Rattha start at Level 5-10, and are twice less likely to get tamed
-Dwarven Miners gather Gold automatically in Army Camp
-All races worker units count towards assignable workers in Army Camp


If Steam is not auto updating the game please follow these instructions

Right click on Dawn of Fantasy name in your library, and select Properties
Switch to Updates tab, and select - Always keep this game up to date
If it still doesn`t work turn Steam completely off and restart

Wait what? Now we can have only one elit in an army ???? Dude you shouldve just added a counter for wizard and teach newbies how to deal them i fought against wizard including armies and always won niw wizards are probably useless...

You can have more than one elite unit - just not of the same type. So you can bring Wizard of the Wave, Wizard of the Calm and Royal Dragon. But you can`t bring lets say 3 Wizards of the Deep, or 3 Royal Dragons. This will stop a good deal of abusive PvP strategies.

Looks great other than one balance issue that might now arise. Defending cities will have an advantage with multiple wizards/dragons unless you also put in a measure for them when defending against sieges.

But i always sieged makkada with two hydras man please dont do this this would make me stop playing the problem was only the fact that people didnt know how to deal with wizards ppl can handle 2 hydras in a pvp because an army with the same strength can deal these elites please i beg you dont do one type elite limit pleaseee i want to use 2 hydras in my army

I am very happy with this patch. Was getting aggravated having to fight 3 royals,or 3 of the same dragon/wizard. This brings more strategy to the field.

Great, I have 3 royals in one army and am already at my limit in all armies, and don't tell me to delete units!!! Can you please add a way to have more armies instead to resolve this issue? I think I speak for all the older players when I say UNITS WILL NOT BE DELETED!

Thanks for listening to the players! I think this is a good patch. I feel sorry for the people who might need to delete units. They should be given a refund on crowns or add more army slots to the game. The max army slots is 10 right? If so that's more than enough in my opinion. Keep up the good work Reverie. Hope patches will keep dropping consistently!

Happy with the new patch didn't even think to get e.g 2 wizards of the deep, but can understand why this needed to be taken out of the game :) thanks +1 update.

Agree with gorgos96 ,, the new players must learn how to play this game ,, the elite units are strong yes but they cost a lot too. And who has many elites they have to discard and is not fair because they have spend a lots of crowns and gold ,, Me for example now with this patch i must discard about 15 mages at level 100 :( ,, which are about 600 crowns and a few millions of gold coins ,,

Ofc i am happy with the patch... and even more now, the guy you are talking about was abusing the system... whats fun in that??? and who cares if they cost alot? elites are here forever ... normal units aren't, they can die!

normal units can be replaced easily and what about the ppl that play the game because they love the fantasy side of the game which is the elites? do you think everybody just plays this game for medieval unit strategy game? its not abusing the system btw you cant do a pvp to someone cant handle 10 level100 wizards its power wouldve probably been 2900 in the old game system and an army with 2900 power can easily fight wizards off because yo cant have 2900 strength without strong elite units a full normal unit army with all 20 level probably be lik 1900 str

I just did pvp vs a guy and killed his units and he just Disconected!!! i didnt get **** just exp -_-

Guys I just joined to game I read about both sides and in my opinion you to make both side happy you guys should just disable these elites from PvP game and allow them in PvE because its something sad to discard units you purchased :/

Guys,

Nobody needs to discard anything. If have have for example 3 Royals in the Army, you an still use that army, but no new armies will be able to use OP formula.

And our goal with combat system is to see combined armies - siege weapons, infantry, cavalry, dragon or two, with some dwarves and a wizard. And not an army of 4 Royal Dragons, and 5 Wizards of the Deep casting the same spell - destroying entire armies and towns in 30 seconds, or unfairly beating one NPC town after another.

I'm mostely happy with the patch, but i agree that there is a problem with the precense of elite unit in pvp and pve. Heroes and elite units should be limited in pvp, so that both sides have fair chances.
Pve is a bit different though, i like and understand that they want to limit the numbers of elite units people bring to certain quests. Because that will take the challange and difficulty out of them. Pve sieges however should allow same type elites, because this is needed for some. I understand why some players want this. They don't want their hard work to become wasted.
Also understand why others don't want this, it makes things to easy. Now things are more challanging. Some don't like this, some do. Not everybody can be happy with changes.

I think the main thing is you wont make everyone happy. Ever. So find a middle ground, and that only comes by adjusting, nerfing, buffing etc. I think the devs are doing the right thing.
I understand its frustrating and sieges will be longer, but a siege shouldn't be 15 secs or less. Especially with the larger npc towns. I understand the frustration with some of the older players having make changes. But if everything is super easy, what's the point in playing a strategy game?

Great point Xso, If anyone has any disputes with this I'm going to have to remind you that this is the exact reason we're making these patches, to find a middle ground that a large majority of the player base, and if possible 100% of the player base, will enjoy.

Bro im saying that if you guys can make more than one same elite in PVE ONLY that would make us and the ppl lost armies cuz of elites happy. That is the middle point. I just dont want long pve sieges and ppl want it can use normal armies in pve and even with hydras makkada is still long

Gorgos future balancing is still being planned, in now way is any feature we implement/modify guaranteed to be perfect. Plus with the number of people wanting elites/more elites in quests or sieges that will most likely be changed in the future or next patch.

Right now even I am not Sure on what the Hero Limit means.


You say One Type of each Hero, Dragon, Wizard

now you mean

You can have Each Hero Once + Each Dragon Once + Each Wizard Once
So Basicly I can have an Army with Dragonslayer+Holy Knight+Green Dragon+Red Dragon+ Wizard of the Calm+ Wizard of the Wave


Or does it mean you can have exactly 1 Hero + 1 Dragon +1 Wizard ?




It would be nice if you could clarify this in the first post of the topic to prevent new users from misunderstanding :)

Hello Sunleader,

Just think of Heroes, Elites, Dragons and mages as being unique. You can only have one of the same name in an army. But as many elites as you like as long as they don't have the same name (As in two of the same). Hope this helps a bit.

This example is correct:
"So Basicly I can have an Army with Dragonslayer+Holy Knight+Green Dragon+Red Dragon+ Wizard of the Calm+ Wizard of the Wave"

awesome news while sure i understand many will be dissapointed thier "strategy" has been nerfed of simply doubling or tripling up with the same core eliet unit it really is kind of dull and not strategic at all look at it as taking rocket launchers to a knife fight.. then you will understand why so many so called"noobs" aka genuine rts players get frustrated and find it game breaking when they last 2.4 seconds in a pvp cos they have theri entire army deicmated before they even get to fire an arrow or raise a sword to be fair i suspect eventually we will have to figure out some way top leader pvpers and o/p type guyswho simply wana go nust duking it out in that fashion should be allowed to but only against their own ilk like give them incentive to work with the smaller/newer guys buy rewarding them "tickest/crowsn" with the ticket system ala team fortress you get a chance to either save them up or use them to be able to join the elite battlefiled where only the striongest and bravest armies face off with each other in grand battl royales.. i am no game maker so forgive my imagination running overbaodr but i could really see this kind of set up working if it was at all possible perhaps like only one certain area of the map .. maybe it is like dawns version of hell or a pit etc? and can only be acsess by unlocking special quests and doing some lower level co-op stuff (say maybe a dozen helper quests to prove your your worthyness as a lord etc..and to show it just isn't might/brwan it is brians/tactis and honour that gets you the highest glory (at end game or twoard it) otherwise i notcie with most end games in onlie they just end up being glorfied social groups and raids etc. maybe this could be dawns asnwer to the raid ideal? and perpahs have extra mini games like timed quests or mult raids we're 4 teams either have to co-op 2 on 2 to capture the princess and esocrt her to saftey or capture the catsle and doinate the area and defdn it til the end of the countdown replace princess with whatever you like sacred crown,holy relic,weapon recue the dragon eggs etc possibilities are endless if they are technically viabal/[possible of course if i could mod,code i' would be building as we speak any how thats my 20 dollasr worth(2 cents) other than the hassles i have had i am super glad things are finally getting smoothed out keep up the outstanding work folks!

A little fix here and there does NOT make things all right if players have to log off due to game freezes whether in their home land , in battle, or just wlking around the map to trade or train troops at the capitol after a battle,
Right Now I am sooooo ****ed off I would like to sue fraud by Reverie for releasing a game that they knew didn't work and yet marketed it and sold it anyway.
I have 3 computers with 3 different O/S on them and Arcana freezes, and crashes on all of them.
This is a patch that needed to be handled FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!

This is something that should have been addressed after Alpha or Beta testing.

Just like Oblivion online that just had their beta test and had many game crashes BUT gathered soo much information and made changes and by the end of the third day players could actually play the game with few crashes.

Reverie really needs to re-evaluate their priorities.

Reverie is working on this, this was simply a side balance patch. You also have to remember that Reverie is a very small team of developers, and Oblivion online had a very large team.

i really dont think you can sue for fraud when 5 minutes on google tells you all you need to know about the games issues, if you just bought the game without doing research that is on you, it's like buying meat out of some guys van, you play roulette and if anything happens its on your stupidity.

When is a new patch coming out and what will it fix or add? Haven't heard form the devs for a long time, so that's why i'm asking.
