Hi guys. So i just started playing this game a few days ago, and it ran fine. This is on the steam client though. Then i had to quit, but stated a few hours later again. Then the lag got worse and worse.

I heard that you can download the game client, and use that fore a huge FPS increase. It worked. But then i had to get off. Got on a few hours later, and it was seemingly unplayable when i got into the online portion. It would go around my town hall in vicious cycles of FPS stutter. And it would not get better.

I tried uninstalling both the steam game, and the client game, and re-installing the client game. I tried playing as admin, and making the DOF folder in appdata not read only. It still makes it unbearabley laggy.

I absolutely adore this game, but these FPS stutters cause it to be unplayable for me.

So if there are any solutions, that would be amazing.

Here is my Computer stuffs.

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 12288MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

If any additional info that is needed, let me know.

I had unplayable lag when I loaded up a town: Novarium. It was only when I played that town, singleplayer was untouched by the lag. I fixed the problem by unassigning all my peasants in my home town, and reassigning them so they weren't constantly having pathfinding issues. I would suggest you move all your peasants to a single mustering point, and then re allocate them to resources as you see fit.

Hope that helps.

This actually worded. Thanks so much. Did not think of the path finding. I did have 80 workers doing stuff though. That may be the cause of what happened. Guess i'm gonna use 40 or less now lol.

Glad to hear it worked! I think as long as you reset what they're doing every now and then, you can keep your work force at a higher number still, but whatever works for you.

I have the same issue with unplayable lag. I tried all the steam suggestions and tried to repath all my units thinking it was the pathing. I even put all my units into armies and tried to put them back into my town. it wouldnt even let me log into that town after that. after about an hour the game let me log into that town but i still have the unbearable lag. I hope there will be a hotfix for this. I love this game but its not right that i payed for a game that im unable to play.

I have this same issue. I am unable to move troops around freely nor defend. Also PVP battles are unplayable due to lag. I play through Steam atm

The game does not crash as often so thats the bright side.
