What is the first thing you'll do when DoF comes out?
I would probably play a tutorial if there is one and then play a few single player skirmishes with each race to see which I liked best.

Jump into skirmish mode and go as many rounds as possible asap creating strategies that will be forever used by the DoF community.

I will go skirmish and see if elves are really the one i want to play in mmo. So this i do till night, after that (around 22.00-24.00, depends when i buy it) i will try mmo =) with my chosen rase.

Heh, you guys are funny sometimes.
But I have a question/concern on battalions which I believe will be in-game.
How will the game handle battalions? On bfme2 there are tons of bugs and stupid stuff that the battalions do and I don't want them in this game.

Review it and create a massive guide for it.
It's more like my job though, since I own a fansite.

Grizzlez

Ye i'll go into campaign first, learn some of the backstory to the game. From here I will most likely find my prefered race and then jump into online.

Darathor
07-07-2009, 12:40 PM
What will the devs be doing when DoF comes out? i.e. Will they be doing mmorts mode or campaign or a bunch of online skirmishes? If they are going to do mmorts mode, what will their race be?

LiTos456
07-07-2009, 08:02 PM
Probably fixing bugs, patching, managing events, bringing updates and new features.
Just like every other sad MMO game, except this one is better :D

I'm also going to pwn Puppeteer as soon as possible :) (old IP leader vs current IP leader battle to the death lol)

Puppeteer
07-08-2009, 05:17 AM
And the winner fights JBV... or, IP leaders death match free-for-all.

Grizzlez
07-08-2009, 08:15 AM
Definately forgot about JBV and IP lol. I'll probably start looking into the games files as well seeing what I can change ;)

Play the sh** out of the game and try to find the most imbalanced cheap ass strategies to be reported for the following patches after release. :)

Also I suggest everyone to reverse their thinking, start out with MMORTS~Online! When your empire is pretty big and you've done a few quests, then jump into skirmish mode and work on your siege tactics. MMORTS starting out is a good place to learn the basics!

That was EXACTLY what I had in mind. Work on the economy side of the MMORTS first. Play the living crap out of it until i completely maximize its logistics and startup to endgame. Find the perfect balance between resource gathering and army (basically work the unit cap) and then focus on strats in skirmish mode with my exact setup to see how I can formulate strategies and counter other strategies.

Im going to buy it. I hope I can buy from Gamersgate or D2D - seems like thats how I buy most of my games nowadays. I'll probably try Kingdom Wars before I try the MMO part.

Gongora
03-02-2011, 05:19 AM
I will be going right to online kingdom (MMO mode) building a massive superior army asap, and then aquiring the most elite units in the game. I shall station my best units in Rochette (my Castles soon to be name) and then roam around the world knocking on everyones door!

^ This. And I assure you.. I WILL find the cheap strategies. XD

Step 1. Install

Step 2. Play the beginning of the game/tutorial/etc.

Step 3. Build massive army of goblins and orcs.

Step 4. Profit.

First I will go to my favorite store to buy it. Then, on the way home, I will read a little bit in the manual while I'm in the tram. Then I will start my pc and install the game. And will just play it in the way I like it at that moment...^^

Probably going to go online and start my mmorts kingdom up. Mainly because if it works like all other rts the longer the game has been running the bigger and stronger your are. Still trying to decide between orc and human though. Wish there was some more footage of the game to see the castle layouts.

I Think it would be a good idea to get started on the MMORTS side of things, and while my city is building up maybe practice some siege skirmishes here and there.

I will most definately jump straight into the MMO portion. I can always figure things out on the fly and single player is for days when im getting my butt kicked in the MMO part. I'll probably head straight for the most mountainous terrain in the game and pray the city design matches the rough terrain I'd like to start in.

My dream is to have a mount stronghold or underground Fortress of some kind provided Dwarves are ever added.

Play it, read a tutorial, play it some more, read a faq on mutliplayer and modding if it exists yet. Perhaps start or contribute to a wiki.

Mod some elements to tweak the single player experience maybe, depending how flexible modding it is, then get into some pvp!

Besides the tutorial, I'll be playing single player until I can feel comfortable in game enough to play Multiplayer. But I'm defently going to jump into Multiplayer. I imagine on release I'll be up all night playing lol. Theres hasnt been a game that Ive been able to do that with in a long time. Looking forward to that.
