Hello, I purchased the game through steam on the 2nd, played a little registered an account made a city/started the online kingdom and exited. I then went back on later, put in my user name/password and it keeps telling me:

Invalid client version, update your game and try again.

Steam is set to automatic updates. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game VIA steam. I have used the password and CD key recovery and verified my user name/password is correct. (copy and pasted it directly from email to be sure). And it is still saying I have an invalid client and to update.

What do I need to do to fix this?

That error message generally indicates that the game engine file (Mithrill.dll) is not up to date.

Updating via Steam should have fixed that for you, maybe the update didn't complete for some reason.

Please try logging in again and if it still gives you that error we'll investigate further.

yep same here.. updates on in steam, but still get that error.

Tried logging out and in many times. Single player works just cannot get online due to it needing a update.

Tried logging in again this morning, same message. Am going to uninstall and reinstall again and try again in 10 hours after work.

Having the same issue as well. Just installed the game yesterday and today I am seeing the error that tells me my client is out of date. Unable to play the game at the moment.

Guys - this is Steam`s issue, please try to contact Steam support, as updating is on their end.

Also if you Delete Local Content (uninstall) and re-download it`s guaranteed to fix this for good.

I have already stated (twice now) that deleting the local content (uninstalling) and re downloading (reinstalling) it has NOT worked. So not much of a guarantee there.

Update: To fix the problem you need restart steam after ensuring automatic updates is on.

Sidicus is correct. To correct this issue you have to logout of your Steam account and relog while automatic updates is selected. (In steam library right click on Dawn of Fantasy, select properties, click the middle tab which should be called updates and then make sure automatically update is selected).
