when an army is seiging a city can it send units into the city at night (for obvious reasons) to sabotage the city walls or the gate?

yeah but how would they get in? Besides, if a city is under siege, the warriors inside won't be sleeping...

aint that the whole point of a sabotage ... sneak in, destroy something ( preferably the gate) and hope u make it out alive .. :d

This is something the day night cycle has brought to us, if your sneeky enough, you might be able to attach a siege tower on a non guarded area on the wall beside a stairwell for an easy ambush sneak attack,,, unless the enemy player sees it coming.

I'd say the best time to do this would be during the night in a heavy rain and thunder storm,, and hope the flashes of lightning don't allow the player to see you coming.:p

The elves also have the 'hide' ability. If the enemy leaves their gates open, you may be able to sneak in unnoticed.

they should make a spy unit that is capable of getting into enemy cities, through disguise or stealth, and accomplishing tasks like poisoning the water or sagatogeing thier siege engines :)

And you would leave your gates open on most cases unless you feel threated right? to allow citizens and traders passage? allowing you resources :)

Naturally they wouldn't go through them, unless the cavalry dismounted.

Then how would trade go in and out of your city unless you had some kind of barrier wall surrounding the nearby farm-land?

Scouts would be an early warning. I think Elves may possibly be best at both an incoming assault and assaulting stealthily (not necessarily powerful- but hey, I'm not developing the game). Of course, each faction has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Yeah Generation this isn't like BFME, you can't encompass all the resources you'll need within your walls.
