View Full Version : New guy with some questions.

Hello everyone, I've yet to actually buy the game but I more than likely will. I saw this game on Steam Greenlight and I was surprised that I didn't hear of this game before, so I looked it up. I heard some good things and some bad things, but the concept of the game really hooked me. I also don't have the patience to wait for it to get 100% on Greenlight, so I'll probably buy it from the website. I've got a couple questions that might have answers elsewhere, but I haven't read thoroughly enough to find them, so I'd appreciate some help!
1) I'm reading a lot about the PvP in the game, but is there anyway to form alliances and work together with a friend to attack or defend the same objective?
2) Is there anyway for you to control more than one city, or is invasion only for looting and pillaging?
3) Is there any faction warfare or progression? Like if the human players start losing a lot in PvP, would the human faction lose land and get pushed back. Alternately, if there are no factions, can player alliances, if there are any, hold territories on the map?
Thanks for the help, guys. Sorry if any of the questions were stupid.

Alliances Button is in the Game so its definetly on the Plan that you can Form Alliances
but right now I think most Alliances are still just Friendlist Based and thus dependent on their own Communication Platforms :)
But as you can request players by their name to join your Battle it is just a minor annoyance :)
I.ll answer 2 and 3 together
Currently you have 4 Slots per Account
which means you can use 4 Different Towns which however cant Interact with each other
Also I dont know if that one is already in
but they announced that there should soon be the City Warfare Starting
which means that Players (Alliances) can take Control of NPC Towns on the World Map and Fight over them.
As for Player Towns those can only be Pillages and Looted
just like Enemy Armys you find you marsh in destroy as much as you can and then Loot the Corpses and Leftovers
as well as the Storages *gg*
Dont worry tough
the Game is not really Hardcore
Hopefully someone can tell you some more on this
Devs should start coming Online in about 1-3 hours (they are in a timezone where its night time or well should already be early morning right now ^^)
As they usually are very frequent on the Forums they might be able to answer you in more details :)

To add to Sunleaders explanation - we have a Siegeworks expansion coming up late this fall that will include most of what you are looking for, but for now unfortunately none of these 3 features are in the game.

Well, you can sort of half do 1) at the moment. You can lay siege to NPC cities or do certain quests in co-op mode and specify the player you want to join you.
For the Siegeworks expansion, the plan is to make NPC cities you defeat become your Ally, then if another player attacks that city and you're online, you (or any player allied to the city) has to defend that city using it's garrison. If there is no player allied to the city online, the attacker will just face an AI opponent as they do now.

Thanks for the help! Got the game and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's sort of clunky but it's fun. I like how unique the three races are. Convinced a friend of mine to join too, it took a bit to figure out how to do the coop quests but after that things went smoothly. Shame the friend referral didn't work. I look forward to the expansion.
