View Full Version : My First Complete Map

Now I did take a bit on this map, but I lengthened it out over a day or so, coming back to it every couple hours for half about half an hour. I do hope this impresses you, if you guys want I will put up a tutorial on how to use the editor easily. Do post opinions and such as I wish to improve. Also I would have posted this in the scenario's forum, but it won't let me post there for some reason, so I decided it was best to put it here. Sorry in advance

Not so bad for a first map! Really - not bad at all! How about posting scenario file though? You can just attach it using Attachment Manager when you reply to a post or make a new one. You can either attach it as .dofscn or Zip it first.

Looks nice, OxyKnight. Is this a playable map with triggered events?
An alternative for sharing would be to use something like Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/) and post a link.
We'll probably add in a stickied thread where people can post links to their creations and we'll talk to the guys at Dawn of Fantasy Heaven (http://dof.heavengames.com/) about a downloads section like there is for other games' Heavens.

I only know how to make it look alright, I suck completely at scripting if anyone could make a tutorial on that, I'd be thankful. Also I eventually plan to make a story for this map here aswell.
Mainly because I'm weird like that.

Cool. And you can play these maps off-line?

OxyKnight, you can find a tutorial here (http://www.reverieworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3928). Or you can go directly to the pdf -> http://reverieworld.com/design/DOF%20Cinematics%20and%20Scripting%20Intro.pdf.
This includes exercises that all new scripters went through when they joined Reverie, including me when I joined back in 2009.
There are a few trigger examples on Dawn of Fantasy Heaven -> http://dof.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=42,64,,30
You can also look at the tutorial scenarios in C:\Program Files (x86)\Reverie World Studios\Dawn of Fantasy\Scenario\Tutorial for an example of working scenarios.
If you have any specific things you need help with, feel free to ask.
Wolfentir, you can load scenarios in the Editor and click on the Play button. There was an option to play custom scenarios in-game in the Singleplayer menu, but that was removed for some reason. We'll look at adding that option back in.
