It`s been a while since we had a good patch - but today we hope to make up for it - with a really diverse patch 1.2.5 that got something useful for everybody. To start things off - this patch introduces a new chat client with a wide variety of new features and customization. But please keep in mind the new chat is work in progress. In addition 1.2.5 finally adds new heroes for you to play with - available in the Market. In addition we`ve rebalanced a lot of gameplay stats - from combat balance, to storage capacity and wealth gain. You can check the Patch Tab for full details. Next step - brand new pathfinding!

Patch is Live

This patch had some issues during the first hour after patching, but luckily we were able to fix most of them quickly. Sorry for any grief this might have caused:)

:::::Major Fixes and Additions:::::
-New Chat client with new chat window look and functionality
-Chat feature - click on player name to send message
-Chat feature - customizing tabs, channels
-New Dragon Slayer class hero available in the Store
-New Tank Knight hero available in the Store
-New Infiltrator hero available in the Store
-New Tank Protector hero available in the Store
-New Warlord hero available in the Store

:::::Minor Fixes and Additions:::::
-Fixed units resetting their skills
-Fixed incorrect text positioning in the PvP window
-Improved World Map minimap
-No Grass visual option removed trees on World Map

:::::Balance Adjustments:::::
-Starting Influence reduces from 25 to 12 points
-First dozen of quests gives less influence rewards
-170% increase to the maximum homeland resources storage
-Most Even units lost 25% to 35% hit points
-Most Orcish units gained 20% to 30% hit points
-Orcish Slayer, Impaler, Ogre, Goblin research effect increased by 50%
-Ranged units damaged increased by 15% to 25%

Please let us know what you think about the new patch! Especially looking for feedback on the new chat client - it`s still a work in progress and we need your feedback to make it better.

First to post... hurray for the patch.

Edit: Not so hurray for the patch after all as game loading time increased for not almost doubled and after loging in any of the towns, the game screen gose black and there is only the mous pointer shown and the welcome speech heared.

Tnx, it is better and about the chat it is a really nice improvement. As a small suggestion, the text colors that can be changed in the chat options should have different colors by default and not white, but ok, i really like the new chat and how it opens the friend list when you need it.

I can't start the game anymore, it gets to the loading screen, but when i click 'play' screen goes black to load intro movie, than closes and i get a message that Dof.exe has crashed.

Hi all,

I think the chat is too big for me, we could have an option to make it smaller like the last one, and I would also like to move it because its too on center of the screen.

I got a weird bug: I tried to pvp someone, I found an opponent and when the map finished to load it was very bugged, like it was missing the graphics, units and everything in most part of it, I could see some geometric forms and the ground was blue. After some time there I got back to world map automatically. Not sure what caused that and if that will happen again.

Customization works fine.

DaVince - update again (by running the updater), we just fixed this.

aramsm - We just fixed that as well. And I like your idea about option to make it smaller again.

Love the new changes! New heroes are pretty awesome too! Skills still seem to be resetting though.

No need to reinstall - just run the updater again, it`ll fix it.

I get stuck with my orc army when in 'view' mode.Chat stops working and if i try to return to world i get stuck in loading screen.

LE:it works now after some more patchin'

created new chat tab not saving and when active shifts chat window to the left(almost in the center of the screen)

Hi again,

First I want to congratulate you guys for the game and the work. I logged today after a long break and saw that the community is much bigger now than ever. I hope you guys can make them stay to the game.

Now about the last patch: I did a pvp and that bug didnt happen again. About the chat, I noticed that changing font size seems to not working... I dont know if I have to relog but nothing happens and I really wish to make font bigger. I also dont know if I can change players name color, wich would help me a lot since that kind of blue is hard to see in elven layout. Also , /who global still not working, however I think that wasnt included in this patch, I just had some hope...

Besides that skills are fixed now and everything works fine. Im not sure about my city resources because I have such low resources for stones and meat and has been so long that I didnt playe, so I guess its not gathering during my offline time. Maybe this is only happening to my city dont know, but has been I while since I noticed that but Ive never reported it.

Now I would like to ask if you guys have any plan for fix elven arrow/bolt thrower fire shots, since this is a big desadvantage for elves, and fog of war? I mean, IMO fog of war is a master piece for strategies, without it we cant flank and make surprise attacks.

Great work - more Elite-units is way to go, i think :)

Pvp aswell as Pve seems to run smoother, and the fact, that we got way more storage now, is awsome. (while it still seems to have the same sound file like before, since it warns me, i aint got no space in storage, when it is 2/3 full.

I ve only tryed out the dragonSlayer so far, and found the issue, that he doesnt stay in fire, in many cases.
While i highly welcome that at other units, i was thinking, this guy is fireImmun, why would he run out of the fire?

From what i ve heared so far, all heroes are quite "standard", and i guess thats because of balance issues, but i would still hightly recommend to implement some more "colorful" stuff, like...

... Mby a mounted hero, or a draken-riding one (ofc weaker than other heroes, since he can fly), or some more spellcasting. A ranged hero would be nice too - Riflemen would fit quite well. Giant wolves, or hydras, rocs, giantEagles... i guess there is much we will see in future.

There was really a huge improvement in quite a short time, and i guess, u guys will just go on. awsome stuff ;)

Hi all,

It's been a while since I played before (at launch and a few weeks after) and I decided to try the game out again this tuesday, which was 2 days before the new patch(yay :) So this patch has brought us among other things the new chat system window, which has some nice new features, but some, I feel are not working as intended. I'd like to consolidate them here. Please move this if you feel this place is inappropriate for it, however I hope to provide some suggestions as well.

- Some people feel, that the new chat window is too big. I personally couldn't care less, as long as it doesn't get in the way of the game, which it sometimes does(covers at least 2 buttons when entering a city to trade and such). - suggestion: make the chat gui movable/scalable?

- If you /whisper someone if you are not in the friends tab, it persists in the tab you were in and you have to change back to the channel you want o type to. - This may have been fixed, but I did not specifically test it.

- Battle chat is glorified world chat and is viewable by everyone - nuff said (When Konstantin found out his words were "This is just wrong...")

- General tab does not show general chat by default, you type and see world channel and also see, I think, system and help channels all in 1 colour - suggeestions: obviously make general the default and viewable channel in the general tab by default, also colour code the chats(though you can do it yourself and I do like the customizability)

- A personal suggestion not affecting people who do not see timestamps(there is a toggle for it in the game options) Please make at least minutes and seconds have leading zeros if they are not 2 digit.

- I have not tested this at great length, hoewevr I am no able to type in my region's chat as is noone else and everyone who still can(I'll get to why I can't later) types in southmont making the region chat rather useless in it's current state. I tried several commands I found in /help (or is it /?) including, but not limited to /local and was it /hr? the one that should make you join your home region's chat all with zero results though I did put text right after, maybe you have to type the command on it's own and then your messageafter sending the command

And at the end not exacly related to just chat - Why oh why does every game save your options(including chat optuions) at graceful game exit? I've had this problem with games like oblivion and skyrim and quite a few others. I fussed arround with the new chat system for a good 30 or so minutes, had everything nicely coloured the way I wanted ahd a new tab for help, general was able to at least see general and stuff like that and then the game frose on me on the loading screen, so I had to go to windows and kill the process via taskmgr... guess what wwhen I loaded the game back up everything I had customized in chat was gone...

Please do not assume that I dislike, hate, or just plain don't want this new chat system. I feel it is an overall positive step, however it needs a little bit more love.

Please feel free to comment on the above and add your own suggestions.

Implementing the Possibility of Naming your own Hero

Implementing Quest Lines which reward you by getting another Immortal Companion at the End (hopefully one you can Name as well :P)

the update is great! the new heroes OMG:eek: trained them up fast, but wasnt paying attention in battle and lost my dragon slayer lvl 25 to an OGRE!

Orcs need more love, not only for the hero.

Well Im having troubles to start the game, actually I cant start it because it crash. Anyone else having the same issue?

Yes they stop reseting skills, but the skill point are gone.

Please fix the new bug where unit LOST their skill point i already posted in bug report for sometime.

Looks like we`ll need to enable units resetting skill points, if unit looses some of it`s stats - again in the next patch - as that was a lesser evil.

Units loosing their spent skill points is actually the reason for the resetting skill points bug - but it`ll take us a while longer to track down.
