Im just curious as to how full the servers are at the moment, im wondering or considering about posting something in the suggestion threads but before i do, i just want to make sure the DOF servers could handle it, i dont know what the capabilities of the DOF servers are, what their limits are on unit cap ect..?

Our servers are used to probably 2% capacity right now. But we have agreement with our server provider to auto-expand the server farm. The way DoF was designed we can in theory handle all the way to 200,000 player base on the single server. So yeah - bring it on:)

Although to add to Kon's statement, if dof becomes such a success we will have to have split up into multiple servers around the world so players do not get 'Lagged to death', have one in EU, Asia maybe, and then the main one in north america. Why this is is so that pings between players stay low.

ok thats great news, so with people with much bigger pop caps, would NOT? hit the server in that way all that much then? i did a post on options to increase your pop cap using wealth in the market, but i wasn't quite sure how this would affect the server, with lay spikes? server load? ect, but even though i posted it already before i saw your replies lol, from what your saying, the added pop caps wouldn't make that much of a difference server side lag then?

no, but hardware wise its to much, we can not just drop support for duel core proccessors and we can not make min ram specs 4 gbs, (would drop support for xp as its max is 3 gbs ram).
I could see army limits increasing to like 10 or 15, or pay wealth for a new army after that like, 25 wealth for every new army after 5, well right now its too insignificant.

Hope to see dof with 200k players.... would be insane.

don't know if you guys know this or not but there are a few sites out there that do live stream content like justin.tv and stickam.com there are categories for gamers that alot of ppl watch as someone plays the game. a friend of mine does it on regular basis for wow and gets a ton of ppl watching. It would certainly get the word out about the game.
