Hi everyone!
We know you've all been very patient with various bugs, and have really appreciated your help with the bug reports. We are working on fixing these bugs as soon as possible, and will be releasing the next patch tomorrow evening (EST) which will shift its way through many of the initial reports, including drastic improvements to the PVP field battle system and homeland crashes, dozens of bug and quest fixes, and performance improvements for lower-end computers. This is just one of many in the coming weeks as our commitment to our fans.

Updates:
PvP Town battles will be introduced to the game this weekend - likely Friday, but possibly Sunday. These were delayed on a general consensus with the devs and players as fixing bugs and crashes was seen as a higher priority.

Patches will pick up in frequency and we will work on getting the high priority bugs, such as the gatehouse bugs, fixed as soon as possible - and definitely before work on DLC commences. We have also had some reports that the password retrieval system isn't working for some, so we will get this fixed very soon - but PM me if you need your password reset in the meantime.

Have you found the source of the bug that is keeping me from logging into my town? Will it be fixed with this patch?

Are the bugs related to the pvp matchmaker fixed? Like the endless looking for pvp match thing, the endless black screen, crashes related to the matchmaker, etc?

Theres something sexy about the words "drastically improved" isn't there? Looking forward to Wednesday, thank you for the post.

I'm also interested in what kind of performance optimization you guys are doing. Can you explain in detail what is being improved?

A more detailed explanation will come when they do the patch which should be soon! xD

I know, just looking for some extra detail exactly what is being improved in terms of performance. For example, are they trying to optimize their code to reduce the overheating issue on older graphics cards?

You know, stuff like that.

Ahhh ok. I had never really thought about the overheating before until I saw you guys discussing it the other day. Now I'm paranoid because my computer operates in a wooden box in a desk with little ventilation and no where else for me to put it. Might have to get out the saw... xD

Anyone idea when the patch is supposed to be deployed today?

It'd be nice to play even single player modes at this point since I haven't been able to play much of any mode except Online Kingdom homecity play and the tutorial quests. BTW, I just purchased the game a few days ago (non-Beta Tester).

Question: Are there any Co-Op play modes in Online Kingdom?

I'm not a big (hardcore) PvPer and especially not a big RTS fan. This game is mainly something different, never played a MMO where you could build a city and use it as a playmap with other players [that sounded kind of cool to me].

No there isn't at this stage but in the very near future alliances will be implemented and you can PvP as a team other people in your alliance but you did say you weren't that into PvP... :P

Yap, I`m playing a copy of your town on our test server right now:) All fixed.

Looks like we might need couple more days with this - need to make sure it`s balanced better.

We are aiming to release this a bit earlier today - around 5pm EST. We`ll keep you posted.

Konstantin Fomenko, there has been a lot of concern from some people about overheating issues. Some of us chatted about it in another thread, but I figured I would bring it here since you replied to this one. I personally have noticed abnormal temperatures from my graphics cards. It really does make me uncomfortable when I see my graphics card pushed to extreme temperatures. Mainly because I don't have the money to afford a new card or PC. I assumed it was because I had an older PC. Then I realized that Dawn of Fantasy is the first game that ever pushed my cards this hard. However, then I started to see other people on these forums express their concerns about this as well. I mean, maybe it could be our computer, but this is the only game that it happens with, for me at least. I've played some heavy graphical intensive videos games with this PC. Now the highest I have seen those games push my card was maybe about 70C to 75C. Which isn't too bad considering the age of my card and the fact that my cards tend to run a little hotter then normal. (8800 GT are my cards) Dawn of Fantasy pushes my cards upwards to 90C to 93C. That is cutting it way too close to the limit on my card, which I do believe to be 100C. Especially for a game that isn't the top of the line in terms of graphics.

I just wanted to hear your take on this issue. Is it something you can improve on your end? I do remember Starcraft 2 had the same problem when it first launched. Blizzard stepped up and said it was their game and they fixed it. I believe their problem was that the FPS on their game wasn't being capped. So the higher your FPS went, the hotter your card got because it was working extra hard. I do hope this is something you guys can fix and I do hope you touch on this subject soon.

70-75 is very good 90C 93C is ouch...Are you on a laptop? (dual core?). The only thing I'd suggest is change your GPU compound because laptops are designed to limit their capabilities with dumb cooling systems (1 cooling system for both CPU and GPU). The only laptop that could almost run MMORPGs without any problems I've seen was a quad core with 1024 nvidia in it.

Even games as nicely designed graphically as LOTRO (technically; in terms of smart mapping / texture compression / use of billboards / mip maps / low poly budget) choke on PVP with over 20 characters involved unless you sport brand new PC. I used to PVP with very low settings. Now imagine hundreds of units involved like in DoF. I don't think developers have done such a bad job in terms of graphics.

Well it's a pain I admit. Although I don't think graphics wise they've done a bad job I do suggest optional graphics settings so even the low end players can enjoy the game without getting a stroke this way securing a bigger audience / player base. I believe it will come in time.

I'd check that compound anyway Obscured because you're gonna fry a decent PC. If you game a lot it dries real fast.

EDIT: It sounds dumb I know but your GPU isn't getting any cooling because there's no heat transfer just dried up cement.

I have the graphics turned to the lowest settings on this game. It just doesn't make sense why this is the only game that does this to my PC. Even battlefield 3 beta didn't run my cards this hot. I played that on medium settings. Also, what exactly do you mean by compound?

Edit: Oh you mean thermal paste? I have no clue how to check that or how to put new on.

Look around I'm sure there's more on the Net:

It's a simple DIY job just make sure you don't splatter the microchip. Just change your GPU compound for starters (your CPU should be okay). You can get a tube for 10 GBP or ask at your local PC repair shop they should give you some for free.

The paste will help his chip set if its dried up but wont help his cards heat.

I have to disagree. His card is probably not getting any cooling because of the dried up paste. It's a routine procedure especially if you use your graphics very often (gaming or even photoshop). My laptop (which is a dual with a similar card to his (older type) was getting better temperature results than his and...I have a single cooling system and this laptop is at least 2 years old).

Yap - it`ll show it as disconnect now instead of OOS as well. I wanna see the look on some of these player faces when they come back to find some of their gold and units missing. Hopefully they`ll know what happened and we won`t see a dozen of "Bugz make army unit and gold go bye-bye after I ditched PvP" reports tomorrow:)

That's better than no penalty at all but I actually think letting AI take over player troops would be a better solution because players maybe disconnected unwillingly (and in such cases the system would totally wrong them).

If you let AI steer DCed player's troops and do not allow this player to log back in for the duration of battle it would do much better imho and you give DCed player a chance also (even though bots are easy to kill). Easy fix since you already have AI implemented.

Ouch....you guys are gonna hate us:(

We really hate to do this but looks like we need to do some more testing on the patch, and have to delay until 2am EST tonight, or possible even tomorrow morning.

There are some major updates with networking that must be properly tested otherwise we are risking corrupting some player towns.

Nice looking patch notes but don't see anything for "performance improvements for lower-end computers" or "drastic improvements to the PVP field battle system" from your first post. Will these be in a later patch then or is there some lag improvement fixes in this one?
