View Full Version : Tuesdays Patch

We know they plan to release town sieges but what else is in it? The forums are flooded with people looking for help with their bugs but little sign of the devs since last week. I hope this means they are working hard but I was enjoying the first few days when they were talking to us about whats being fixed it made it easyer to wait.

If a dev gets the time to post here maybe he can answer a few questions like if orcs are going to be fixed this patch or PvP lag and OOS issues will be patched up. I did notice that these issues are being called "rare bugs" but I haven't come across anyone ingame or on the forums that didn't have very bad lag in PvP.

Maybe its just me but I thought the "zoom in" button for Orcs was fixed but I have yet to use it without crashing so can't level my units, can't quest without crashing on the loading screen or the quest npc bugging out so I can't click him, and can't PvP without the game freezing on the loading screen since the last patch but even before it the lag made it unplayable.

I'm not sure what is in the patch, but I do hope they fixed the bug where I can't log into my town once and for all.

Have you try'd to make a new one or do you have alot of market items in it you dont want to lose? Took me 6 try's but got a town that works now at least.

Well the Tuesday patch is also supposed to include a ton of bug fixes (maybe also a bit of balancing), so you shouldn't be worried that they only add features.

I'm not sure how i understood the information but there will be a patch today. and one in 1-3 days once again. I'm not sure if siege is patched in today. and PvP main bugs are fixed in 1-3 days. or if the patch today is mainly Fixing PvP and shortly after (1-3 days) the siege will be implemented once PvP works. after that i presume they'll go back to their fixing patteren of helping the individuals that got issues + smaller bugs.

Haha well then likely is just luck. Using the exact same army as usual and its just not OOSing anymore. So good!

You should probably try to have it destroyed first. see if it pops back up.

In this thread (http://www.reverieworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4616) they make it sound like the patch may not be out today, and that even if it does come out today, it might not include sieges.

indeed we might have to wait a couple of days. but thats just minor stuff. i mean a couple of days are nothing.

I hope that is true, White.

I am very nervous about the game. I can't seem to play the game, without it deleting all my troops. I am not even ready for Sieges. I have lost three armies so far, and Kon did personally compensate me, I was pretty happy. So I know they care about us. BUT (yes there is a but lol) I went in and put in the codes, got some upgrades and units, and redid my army a bit.....and guess what happened? It wiped out everything I had again. So now my compensation is down the drain. I really hope that this game becomes stable, because I have really enjoyed it so far.

Im eagerly waiting for this patch but im afraid we all are expecting too much, like its a miracle or something haha.

Kinda scary that they implent city sieges before they balance out units etc, kinda means that someone is bound to getting their entire city ravaged right?

Been playing Borderlands the past days (forgot to play it when i bought it lol) and its really really weird playing a game without critical bugs again im constantly sitting and waiting for it to crash or something but nothing! :P

I have no motivation to start from scratch. I just want my town that I spent a lot of time on back.

IT sound really wierd as i've has no issues like that in similiarity ( I only Crash on PvP...like always).

That sounds just outright bizzare but i feel for ya, but ya gotta remember they dont leave no man behind here (from what i've experienced/seen anyway) as they appear to be fixing bugs that only affect a couple of people even. instead of the standard Fix the majority leave the minority as casualties of the war (against the nasty bugs).

nonetheless you should keep updating your posts. trying different things and Post up all relevant information about your issue so they can diagnose the issue better.

After all if you just post once then leave it to dry with the many bugs constantly reported, a workschedule that probably makes a normal man shilver they might "forget" it if not within sight so to speak.

Im sure they are working on the bugs but so far I have only had 2 day of play time since I bought the game and only 3 pvp fights which had massive lag. After my 2nd day my video card (which was double whats needed for the game) overheated and burnt out so I had to get a new one and a better power source for it. So now I've paid for a game thats to bug'd to play and a new video card with no game to play. They call this a soft release but some may call it a paid open beta.

When did it get ok to pay for a product and find its broken or not finished? If you went to the movies and it started a hour late and said it was a 2 hours long 3d film but after 20mins and in 2d it cut off and they ask you to come back next week to see if they finish making the movie. Would you stand around outside cheering them on as they work on the movie or want to know why you paid for 20mins?

Good to see other people have overheating issues with this game. Well, not good because it's happening to people, good that I'm not the only one. This is the only game that I have seen push my cards upwards in the 90 degrees Celsius. Hell, even the Battlefield 3 beta didn't push my cards that hot and I ran that game on medium settings, while I run DoF on lowest settings possible.

Yes took my old card that ran Shogun 2 on med without lag to 94c and toasted it.

Now that worries me. I don't have the money to replace my cards if they were to burn out from playing this game.

i got heating issues aswell, but i run it on the highest setting. thought it goes up to 80-90 degrees (but thats "alright" but on the limit to "trouble" thought am only useing 37% og my fan power. its automated so if it tips over it'll go loud. which it has a times of prolong playing)).
its not a big issue (for me). but they might have to do some optimising.

You sure its 80-90 degree and not celsius? If its celsius then yes its a problem not only will it ruin your card but damage and overheat the rest of the computer. Since I got myself a new card it run at about 47c but its one of the best cards in it price range. My MB may have been damaged from the old card since it's at 50c while playing now.

I use a program called Speedfan to monitor the temperatures inside my computer. Idle it sits around 57C, under load playing games the highest it usually hits is about 68C or 70C. Playing DoF it pushes my card to about 88C to 92C. Granted my cards are old (bought the PC back 2008 ) I can still run most of the current games without any problems. Well, at least until I started playing this game. I read somewhere that my cards have a limit of 100C before it starts to cause problems, but 88C to 92C is cutting it way too close for comfort.

I hope they manage to fix (most of) the bugs soon because I am getting freaking tired of it. I bought the game last saturday and it has been getting worse and worse by the day since then. I think it has to do with the player count, more and more new players joining in everyday seems to be causing great stress to the game. During primetime I can't even do a single pvp match.

Also this game is FAR from optimised, it's actually quite sad..

The fact they keep calling every bug they fix or admit to being real "rare" only adds fuel to the fire. It's Tuesday afternoon here in the US and from what I understand they are based in the UK but no word on where our patch is. They already let the weekend after release slip by without a patch, its getting bad.

and yes, I don't think that saying that all those bugs are rare is the right thing to do. xD

All I can say is you knew that the game was new and buggy when you paid for it with your mums credit card. You would only have to spend 5 minutes on the forums to figure that one out but unless its game breaking (liked obscures bug) I really don't see what your complaining about as they have been doing heaps of fixes. They have had a little time off and been working on implementing the castle sieges, the world is not ending, just give them a chance it hasn't even been released for 2 weeks yet.

ah yes celsius. sorry, thought at 80 its still within "tolerable range" according to Catalyst (AMD) i'm on a radeon HD 6800 Serie ( i ordered a Radeon HD 6780 but got a HD 6800 not sure which is better <.<). its suposed to adjust the fan speed to keep it out of "harmful levels" as raising the fan to 40% would easily keep it within 70 celius 50% would make it down to 60 c range.

ill do a re-reading while i play.

Over half of my posts half been bug reports and no when I got the game there wern't many reports of bug. Speaking of game breaking I am unable to PvP in a PvP game and unable to quest due to bugs or kill random mobs with the zoom button so ya what would I have to complain about I got a nice chat box ingame right? What heaps of fixes are you talking about?

Yes it hasnt been out long and a few bugs are to be expected but when people pay money they worked for it should be in a working condition.

Some cards do run hotter then others but most of the time you dont want to go over 70c since 70c = 158 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine blew up at 90c + which is around 200F.

The fact they keep calling every bug they fix or admit to being real "rare" only adds fuel to the fire. It's Tuesday afternoon here in the US and from what I understand they are based in the UK but no word on where our patch is. They already let the weekend after release slip by without a patch, its getting bad.

Well the thing is when we tested these fixes they worked. Its not like we're doing to just annoy everyone (though if you go on yours and some other comments, we are ).

How you got that Reverie is based in the UK is beyond me, the company is based in Canada.

Your right we weren't working on anything over the weekend, just chillin. I love how a few days past and some start to go crazy. Some of you act as if we are suppose to work, post on the forum 24 hours/7 days a week or you'll rage and demand your money back. Just chill, slow down, we know the game is very buggy and "WE" are working on it even if you don't want to believe us. We try as best as we can to be on the forum to answer questions and what not. Just because we don't acknowledge your bugs every hour doesn't mean we aren't reading your bug reports and working on them.

Hopefully soon you'll get a post on when the update will come.

PS we dont have a dedicated team/person that its their job to post on the forum. Devs have to take time out of their busy schedule to post on here.

Looks like someone should have done some more research before spending their hard earned cash ;)

Funny how you can bring talk about using mommys credit card to someone then try to egg people on like a child hiding behind the net safe and sound. Your defending a game thats unplayable for some and burning up computer parts. Yes next time I should research the back of the box that says "Unplayable in its current state. Warning may set computer on fire."

Indeed you should. I know it's unplayable for some, I couldn't load up my city for days because it bugged out but they are doing what they can and theres really no point having a cry over it if you can still play the game. Just go away for a month. You might be surprised when you come back or better yet you won't come back.

Ok I was wrong about you were UK based (505 is UK based right?). Never once did I say you weren't working over the weekend but the updated said the orc zooming bug would be fixed this weekend. It was not and no notice why. No one asked for every hour and no need to act like that but if you tell your customers something will be done on a certain date and your late let them know? Maybe?

If you don't have a forum team hire some fanboys to do the work for free alot of games do that to clean up any negative posts. Safey18 is looking good for it already.

We really apologize and will have a statement as soon as our CEO is available. We have employees who haven't taken a weekend off in two years; it's not like we're on sabbatical. We are working diligently on getting everything fixed, and will have another patch soon - but our CEO will need to provide the details on that.

Thanks for your patience - it won't be much longer. :)

Chill guys, Main thing to understand here is that its impossible to fix every bug as soon as its reported as there are a lot of bugs reported to get through. The game may not be working 'perfectly' but itl get fixed up im sure.

So as i say, Deep breath, chill, go watch TV, You know just to relax. I did get the feeling this discussion was heating up and that should be avoided at all costs as it just causes problems.

Checked my bill and it should be a HD 6870 radeon i got.

Have a HD 6770 Radeon myself and seems to stay cool fine. Few tests you could run is to open your case and make sure your fan is still pinning on the card if not give it a spin to see it it starts up again, if its hot to the touch (make sure you have no static build up), or try a few other games and see what its heat goes up to. Could also be something like dust but 80-90c is pretty bad for a card.

I try'd a few things to fix my old card but after some hard gaming time not knowing it was at 90c+ it was to far gone even with a OC on its fan it was idle at 65c. My old card gave me a few good years but needed to upgrade it anyway but yours seems like a good model from what I can tell.

What about the card itself was it taken from your old computer or did it come with the new one?

I guess some issues popped up with the patch, that can always happen. I rather wait a day longer than have a patch that introduces new bugs instead of fixing them.

Alex Walz
10-11-2011, 12:19 PM
Yes, Tuesday was the original plan. But since then, I've said dozens of times that it may be a day or two late. But we are working on it, and it will be released soon.

With this said, it's still Tuesday, and our patches customarily come out in the EST evening - which is a good 7 hours away still. So please have a little patience.

I talked with the CEO, and an announcement will be posted within the next 15 minutes. :)

Patch will be released tomorrow evening - so please excuse one day's tardiness. More info to come.
