Report any stability issues ranging from Crashes (CTD), permanent freezing, black screen, game not launching or crashing during launch here.

Make sure to provide:

Full system specs or preferably a DxDiag.
Which map the problem occurs on if applicable.
Exactly what you were doing when the problem occurred, moving a unit on the worldmap, ordering a unit to attack, switching a formation, etc.
Anything else you think might be important.

Last night, i got DCed, i think it was just as i got a pvp game up, anyway, thats not the real problem about it.
The thing is, that every time i try to connect now, is that i get this error "raknet peer failed to start SOCKET_PORT_ALREADY_IN_USE" been like this for about 16 hours, (only tried once yesterday before i went to bed, and once now, before reporting it)

I dont really think my systemspeccs will matter here, and i might have put the post on the wrong place, would love to get a fix soon so i can get back to playing.

Didnt't crash once yesterday but doing it all day today. Screen goes black and load noise from head phones at random times at my home base. Forums won't let me post a attachment of the DxDiag and its to long to paste. Here is part of it at least.

Hey, I think the Raknet network client process might've left running on the background, or you might have some other network application running that happens to utilize the same port. Maybe another game that uses Raknet? Have you tried restarting your computer and/or closing some other applications that utilize a network connection?

Hope this helps!

I've had several crashes today on Orcs when trying to move units into my town, I usually get a big lag spike before the crash. I managed to grab one screenshot of the ntdll.dll crashing, unfortunately, the logfile it sapposedly created wasn't in the temp folder it said it would be in. I also managed to crash mithril.dll after logging back in and trying to move the army and resources to town again. The mithril.dll is generally what crashes for me, so I was surprised to sell ntdll.dll crash. Again the logfiles weren't where they said they should be to post =/ so this probably doesn't help much....

I got the typical mithril.dll crash and was able to grab the log file this time =)

Not sure how to attach a file here, so here's the crash data.

Please fix this guy it's driving everyone crazy, it's on the orc side, almost any time you enter a quest/battle/city/move army around, mostly when entering a city or quest. There's also significant lag on orc when moving units to/from a city, more so then human/elf from what I gather if that helps at all?....

EDIT: This crash happens every time I try to enter this quest, it's presistant, if you need more info let me know what you need and how to get it.
Thanks!

The 2 above errors seem to be fixed, however I still crash on the same quest. It seems to load, but as soon as I get the animation where you enter a quest and it starts to hover over the top of the map I crash to desktop. Here's a screenshot of my new error.
By the way: Loading armies on orc is wayyyyyy better now ;) so thanks.

Crashed to desktop loading units into my town from my main army on orc, mithril.dll crashed, after patch 1.06

Also my mauraders don't have the ability to select corpses to loot on the ground anymore, I can put them into corpse loot mode, but they'd rather shoot buildings.

As of patch 1.07 I'm still crashing to desktop moving part of my Orc army to town. This time I don't get any error messages, just a crash directly to desktop.

So I did a little more troubleshooting, if I crash before I get a load screen to start loading the maps instance where you do the fighting I crash to desktop via ntdll.dll. If I actually make it past a loading screen, and it starts showing the overhead graphics for the battlefield, I crash in mithril.dll to desktop. These are both under orc, and seem to be mostly when my hero is in the party. This crashing was happening when I was trying to quest again. Here are the screen shots.

I know nothing was mentioned in patch 1.08 about fixing these bugs, but they still persist after 1.08 as well =). Let me know if you guys need more info, or what else I can provide to help solve the problem.

Just curious when this issue might be addressed, I know you've fixed several things that were sappose to effect this bug, but I've been reporting it since day 2 or 3 on release and still have the same crashes happening. Am I the only one with these types of crashes?

Hi gents. I have never had a problemm playing this game before today, and twice I lost progress in seiges. Wasted about 4 hours of time. I usually play during different times of day, possibly when it's not as busy. Here are my five logs from today. Failures happened around 10:30 or so at Makkada and 11:10 at ral nistro I was seiging. Both times I had to payout and lost units because the freeze made me payout. If you send me a message I will send you my DXDiag directly.

I have seiged these places before successfully and played for hours on them with no problem. I am usually playing between 1800-0200 EST.

By the way, during the Ral nistro seize, when I froze I was closing a gate before the reinforcement army showed up to attack my seige palisades. During Makkada I was in the middle of the city and not sure exactly what my troops were doing but I had trebuchets firing at walls and archers firing at troops.

My first crash! (Six straight hours of play, doing pretty good guys)

I crashed upon loading my first siege quest against an AI player for the orcs. Don't know the name of the mission. Might just be a one time thing, but I figured I'd pop it up here.

Thanks for your report, hopefully a one time thing, but could be something wrong with the quest. Please let us know if this happens again.

It's happened again (once) but i'm fairly certain it's just a length of play sort of thing. My computer is pretty low-end so it gets cranky when it has to work 12 hours straight.

p.s. your game is addicting.

Not 100% sure if this qualifies as a bug, but the server seems to be constantly (as in every five minutes) going down. My internet is working fine, and the game starts fine; it's just after a bit (sometimes as little as a few seconds) the server goes down. When I start the game up again, the server is fine, until I get into one of my cities.

This is really annoying, 'cause I'm trying to seige Darssen again (after I was stuck at the last gate with no treants, a dead dragon, and no ammo for my bolt throwers) but I only get a few minutes in before the game closes.

Dreamwalker - did this only start happen today? And did it fix itself after a while? This is definitely a connection problem - hopefully a one time thing, but do let me know if this is a long-term problem and we`ll look into this some more.

It's been going several days now-since about wednesday or so. But there was still some weird connection problems before that, though not nearly as bad.

I haven't logged in since yesterday, so let me check and I'll get back to you.

edit: everything seems fine now-but if it happens again, I'll let you know.

Played this game for a few hours with no problems and now all of a sudden whenever I try to load my Online Kingdom it crashes on the loading menu and I have to use the task manager to close it.
This is causing me to not be able to do anything.
I have included the logs from around the time of crashing.
I wasn't doing anything at the time of the crash, I had logged out of the game to go open the door, logged back on a few minutes later and the freezing started. Playing as orc.

EDIT:I can start a new online kingdom and play on that so i'm guessing my whole kingdom just got corrupted somehow? Praying this isn't the case because the thought of having to rebuild it all isn't exciting me.

@ Grizzlez,

Could you please tell me your in-game username, and town name (that crashes on loading), as well as what slot 1,2,3 or 4 that town is in. And we`ll investigate and try to rush a solution into tomorrow`s patch.

When I entered my human town, the game froze as soon as the opening tour ended. The first time, there was still a few interface buttons. The second time, it was just the screen, as you can see here:

URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/151/screenshot5n.png/]http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/715/screenshot5n.png[/URL]

My elf town had been working fine, this just happened once I switched to check up on my humans. Like I said, I tried twice, both times it froze.

Well, not exactly froze; the people were still moving around. But I couldn't move the camera, select units, go to the world map, or even exit.

Username is Dreamwalker, town is Tiraslee, slot 3.

Edit: working fine at the moment

I fought the Dwarves at Nokkrosal. During the fight my forces were inside the fortres fighting the leader of the dwarves. when he healed himself the game screen froze and the heal sound repeated slowly along with the music, which also repeated.

I had enchanters in the fight, but not in the vicinity of the leader.

I had a freeze tonight in Thicken Dal region in view mode. I had control of an enchanter unit and was trying to heal some units. upon hitting the mass heal button, the screen froze and music skipped/repeated.

Boricsmith are you sure your not overheating? do you have gpu heat monitoring software? if you have a navida card you can get EVGA precission to see, I think the problem with crashing your having might be due to heating issues. unless the freezing is repeating every time you do any of your reported issues.

Joseph,

Here is the log file. I'll be glad to send you my DXdiag via PM if you want it. I don't think I was overheated because I was just playing without problems for a half hour using a different town slot (slot 3 versus 1).

@ Dreamwalker - can you confirm if the problem with your town not having GUI/camera movement on reload is fixed now?

If not - please load the town, and right after it finished loading - please get Log1.txt from your main Dawn of Fantasy folder and post it here please.

About 5 minutes ago I had a freeze with a human army visiting Makkada when I tried to heal my units. I clicked on the heal units button and the transition t the hel screen seemed to start but then stopped and DOF crashed after freezing. I could get out out the program and when I did I got the DOF.exe has stopped responding message.

I have a feeling this is a bugged army and that is what may have caused my crash. This army is an old one from October that I just use now to PVP until it dies off. I attached the log. thanks.

So I've had this happen probably a dozen times in the past week. I was waiting it out hoping it would get fixed but doesn't seem to be reported by anyone else on this thread at least.
The game is freezing on the loading screen between the exiting of the battle map going to the world map.

User: Phil2Bob
Slot: 1
Race: Human
Location: Doesn't seem to matter

It doesn't seem to crash the program though. I noticed if I let it run after the freeze (I let it go for like 15 mins once) it continues to play the "your peasants need jobs..." notification periodically even though it's still showing just the load screen. And when I go to kill the program it doesn't show as "not responding", just kills it and done.
Reloading loses all progress since entering the home city screen the last time.
Hope this helps! Let me know if I'm kicking a dead horse here and there's already a work around that I missed.

I can confirm this is a connection problem. And you connection to the game server gets interrupted well before the remote scenario you enter. This is why when it`s trying to load your homeland on return to the worldmap - it`s stuck on the loading screen - as there is just nothing to load.

We had a similar issue with another person a while back, but it`s quite rare. Few things you can try:

-If you are on a wireless internet - reboot your wireless router
-Make sure you don`t download or stream anything while playing DoF
-Before you enter remote scenario (quest, view e.t.c), log out to the main menu, and log back in

Game crashes on the world map almost every time. Unfortunately on games that don't use directx 11 I see performance problems unless I keep them in windowed mode, which this game oddly lacks. I'm sure its graphics related,

My specs are
Intel I7 Quad core, Q840 @1.87 ghz
Samsung SSD PM800 2.5" 256 gb ATA
AMD crossfire with 2 ATI Mobility Radeon 5800
Windows 7 64bit

Not sure if any other info is relevant. The game plays slow with the graphics settings at the lowest, as is the case with games that don't use dx11 when not in windowed mode. I play much more graphically intensive games at max settings with out problems so I know its not a lack of hardware.

In addition to the game freezing I had 2 structures in mid build disappear (along with the resources spent to start them), I had my haunter dragon disappear and my main hero gained 9 lvls (definitely not a fair trade), I don't know if I'll keep trying to make things work or find something else at this point, trouble shooting looks like more trouble than its worth and the loss of the dragon takes the fun out of things.

Update: I got a FPS limiter and tested it on 30 fps and the game did not crash, going to test at 60 and 120 and see if I can't get proper performance out of the game.

It was suggested by goosie on a different forum with this reasoning:
"If that game you're playing doesn't have a FPS limiter and if your computer and video card are relatively good, your video card can overwork itself by rendering at extremely high FPS rates, which doesn't do any good since you don't reap any extra benefits from having 200+ FPS. You just get higher running temperatures which decreases the lifespan of your video card. You could try to limit your FPS if it doesn't have an option in game by forcing vertical sync. "

I don't know if he's spot on or if its something else and the fps limiter is just a coincidence, but I hope this helps.

To add There was a recent crash when attacking Pultak I took the healing shrines then while healing used a healing abilitie with the Orc Berzerker. There was a immediate crash after that.
I had a orc army and the reinforcements had come and gone. Was also still shooting Elf catapults or bolt throwers i think there called.
Thanks and i do apologize i have no idea how to pull a crash log of a game
willing to learn though

Everytime I attempt to siege an NPC I always crash at the loading screen, it freezes and I will have to restart it. This is so far the only real problem I have experienced but I have crashed at least 20 times trying to get into a siege battle against the city of Ral Nistro. I'm getting frustrated and was hoping for some assitance because I can no longer progress in quest lines due to this problem please help. HOWEVER I can Siege other players and it works fine which makes no sense please help my account IN GAME IS illdigurgrave [same as my forums]

p.s [update] i even dropped my army by half its pop and military strength and I still crashed/FROZE so I do not believe it is bug of some sort not performance issues

Well a dev asked for the crash report thing, but I let my game sit for at least an hour and it was just stuck at the loading screen, it wasn't seen as none responsive by my pc. I don't really know what else to do It refuses to actually crash it just freezes and then I have to alt f4 because i cant even alt tab. the only way for me to close it is to crash it myself with alt f4.

anyways if u have any thing I could try let me know

P.S not to be rude, but this relatively renders the game unplayable. I cant advance any questlines, and on top of the PVP is glitchy for the most part, and most people just pay their way out of a battle. We do have the fix for this, we've just been unable to patch it.

I've just had word from Kon. He has been unable to get to somewhere he can do the patch from because the roads where he is have been closed by the snow, although they have opened up now.

Kon will post in the forums when he has been able to sort out the patch.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to the monster snow storm that hit East US/Canada we were unable to patch this right away. I tried what I can to get to the office on Friday - most areas got between 40 to 60 cm of snow here, and roads were just impossible (I was considering skiing there - but that`s good 40 KMs:p)... But as you are reading this - it all has been resolved:) Stay tuned for an awesome patch tomorrow with lots of new features to make up for this mistake.

I get a lot of lockup/crashes in this game. Not so in any of the others I play.
Windows dll errors/unexpected terminate, ect.

I've got hardware monitoring turned on and cpu/gaphics cards are not overheating. Fans only run at 30% idle and never get above 70% while playing.

The latest crash I was afk looking at world map and the sound locked up. Started looping a small part of the music track.

Just upgraded my grafics card and some minor windows update files, aswell as c++ since I had some major issues with crash to desktop with c++ runtime error over the past four days.

Now I got the apphang crash with the Mithrill.dll file as the culprit.

I have a high end 680 and I had the same problem whilst playing farcry 3 on a newer grafics card update, so I downgraded back then and I had less off those apphang crashes. And I am going to try to do that again to fix the apphang crash.

Most games nowdays are not made for high spec users. They are compitable with crappy mid to low end specced ones and its a bit annoying.
